Okay, I needed a certain sized plate for a certain spot so started my search on Etsy. This was a super quick find as I'm a horse owner and lover and my kitchen is gray and black with red accents. But, what I didn't expect was that the workmanship would be so refined and upscale. It really is a work of art and much, much better than I expected. As for the packing and shipping.....secure and fast. Great buying experience all around.

About

My studio location and love of horses gave me the name for my shop.

I used to do all of my pottery at a studio in Pasadena. After doing that for quite a few years, I got tired of driving over there so often. I finally got a wheel and set up my studio in one of the stalls in the stable in our backyard. It's so nice to be able to work out there when I have a free moment. It's also great to be able to check on pieces as they are drying, especially if I need to attach handles to mugs or do other steps during the drying process. There are times in the summer when it gets way too hot to work out there and even though it's California times that are pretty chilly. Our dining room has frequently been full of drying pottery when it gets too cold or damp in the stable.
I still do my glazing and firing at the studio in Pasadena. Having a kiln at home is tempting, but at this time it's not feasible. Also, it would have to be an electric kiln and I wouldn't be able to get the unique results that a gas kiln with high fire reduction firing gives.

Welcome to my shop. I hope you enjoy the pottery as much as I enjoy making it. So many factors come in to play with the entire process of pottery -from the clay, to the weather, to the placement of pieces in the kiln and the process of reduction firing. No matter how many times you've done something or how well you've planned, the results are often surprising, . The possibilities are endless, which presents constant challenges and keeps the entire process exciting!

Payment
I accept Paypal and Direct Checkout. Payment must be received immediately with purchase.
-CA residents: CA sales tax is required.
Shipping
Because pottery is heavy and fragile, it requires extra packaging to protect items during shipping. As a result, shipping costs are higher. I try to keep the cost as reasonable as possible.
-I recycle boxes and packaging materials. If your purchase is a gift and you would like nicer, unused materials, please let me know.
-If your Etsy address differs from your Paypal address, I will not ship until you have verified which is the correct mailing address.
-Shipping is usually via USPS insured, so expect delivery to be 2-10 days.

- If the shipping charges are more than 50 cents over what the actual shipping cost is, I will refund the over charge.

_If you buy multiple items the shipping for each item will automatically add together during checkout. Usually, multiple items shipped to the same address are cheaper than that combined shipping total. If the shipping charges are more than 50 cents over what the actual shipping cost is, I will refund the over charge.
Refunds and Exchanges
If you are not happy with your purchase, please contact me so that we can correct the situation. If you wish to return the item, please contact me within 5 days of delivery, with your intention to return it. Once I receive the item undamaged, I will issue a refund for the cost of the item. Shipping costs, to and from, are the responsibility of the buyer. Return shipments must be sent insured. Items should be returned no later than 15 days after delivery to you, for a full refund. I am sorry, but I cannot refund items that are not returned to me after 30 days.
-I make every effort to properly package the pottery. However, if a piece should arrive broken, please send me a photo of it within 5 days of delivery to arrange for an appropriate replacement or refund.
Additional policies and FAQs
-All items are food safe (unless specifically noted) and can be used in the microwave, oven and dishwasher.
As a precaution, handmade pottery should not be taken directly from the freezer or refrigerator to the oven or placed in a preheated oven. Instead, place room temperature dishes in a cold oven and gradually bring the heat up to the desired temperature.
-Pottery should not be placed on top of a stove burner.
-Take care when handling items once hot liquid has been placed in them, because pottery will absorb the heat.
-Stoneware is dishwasher safe. However, these are one-of-a-kind-pieces, so hand washing is always safer.
