I asked for a custom combination ashtray / pipe ash remover and can't be more pleased. The artist took my concept and made it tangible. Thanks for the great work!

About

Nourishing My Artistic Soul

I first saw a young man using a potter's wheel when I was 12 and knew it was something I wanted to learn to do. However, there were no opportunities available for me at that time and it wasn't until 40 years later when, approaching retirement, I signed up for ceramics classes at Cypress College.

It was eye opening to see that clay was more than just a way to make vessels. The craft became a way for me to express myself artistically through wheel throwing, hand building and sculpting clay.

I am now fully embracing retirement by spending my days focused on improving my craft. I have taken a range of classes from handmade tile making, life sculpture and bronze casting at Fullerton College. I hope to add some sculpture to my shop in the future. Additional works are showcased on my website: http://www.ClayduSoleil.com.

My shop was opened in April 2010 when my husband encouraged me to try to market my work. After much experimentation, I mastered the Japanese technique of Neriage which involves insetting mixed clay tiles into the clay as it is being thrown to create bands of contrasting color.
It has been exciting to see my work appreciated by customers across the globe. I want to send my sincere thanks to all my customers and supporters.
