FAQS:

How did you get your name?
Since my oldest was a little guy, my husband and I always referred to him as a "clean jellybean" after taking a bath, washing his face or his hands, changing his diaper, etc. We said it so much, he thought his name was "Bean" for a while. It's something that stuck around and we now use it for the youngest as well. When my youngest arrived with super-sensitive skin and nothing store-bought worked, I started making lotion just for him. After friends and family got hold of some of my products and we needed a name, "Clean Jellybean" was a natural fit.

What Technique Do You Use?
For soap making, I use the melt-and-pour method using high-quality bases, oils and pigments that have been lab tested by the wholeseller and researched personally by me. (This is not the stuff you will find at your local hobby store.) So, rest assured the soap you receive is of high quality. I also follow the FDA guidelines.

Some have asked why I choose melt-and-pour over other soap-making processes, such as cold or hot. Quite simply, I cannot cook. You know that relative in the family that cannot properly heat up a microwave dinner? Yeah, that's me.

On top of that, I'm a certified clutz. Ever sprain your ankle while sitting on the couch? It's not easy my friend, but I've done it. Twice. Because the materials used to make cold and hot process soaps are very dangerous, my being within 100 yards of them is not a good idea. Oh, and the fact that I usually have a 2-year old clinging to my leg makes it not worth the risk.

Finally, I love the artistry you can achieve with melt & pour. You can really make some stunning designs with this method, which keeps me in the kitchen whipping up batches.

What's your favorite scent?
Right now, bar none, it's cucumber cilantro for soap. If you see a batch for sale, you better grab it as it doesn't sit on the shelf around here.
