Announcement   My blankets and vests are all handmade with pennies individually quilted within the fabric for a smooth feel and great coverage with no “clinking”. Starting this fall I am making the vests for my weighted vests using repurposed blue jeans rather than using recycled denim jackets. By making the vests myself, I can offer specific size choices that are much easier for the buyer to determine using the size charts that I have provided. I have several popular weights and sizes available in my listings, but if you would like a different size, fabric choice, or weight, please message me!

This is a look at the end of the sewing process. Sewing the binding in the edge, carefully checking for loose threads, then folding, wrapping, and boxing for the trip to its new home!

This is one of my weighted blankets during construction. I really do use pennies as the weights!

My weighted blankets and vests are filled
with pennies—not poly pellets!! For anyone looking for a smooth alternative to the plastic, here it is! Washable, too!

About

From folded pieces of fabric to a completed, one-of-a-kind bag!

I started sewing because as a child, I saw my mother making most of the clothes that I wore. I sewed a little during college--pillows, a dress, lots of repairs--but when I got married and started having children, well that is when I decided that I had to do what had been done for me. Turns out that it was a great money saver on top of being a great creative outlet for me. I was hooked!! I've been sewing for the last 35 years. I make everything from garments to home accessories to fashion accessories to costumes. I love it all! I especially love the challenge of making something out of "nothing"' such as scraps of leftover material and unused garments or other cloth items. Remaking ready-to-wear items is a favorite of mine as well. Today I am enjoying sewing every day. I always have several projects in the works and look forward to posting the finished projects in my shop as soon as I can! Enjoy looking through what I have listed! I would love to hear from anyone who shares my passion for creating useful things!
