Announcement   I will not be able to finish any orders before Christmas or the end of January

.I am changing my focus a little. As always I am delighted to make one of my dolls for you. I am trying to get caught up on all the dolls I would like to give to relatives and friends children that would like to have one of my dolls. Seems like they get left out. Also I am at the present time trying to create a doll that I will be able to donate to hospitals or charities for children who need a doll to hug and love.

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
If you have a special request please contact me. Chances are that I can make those ideas come to life in fabric form. I am delighted to create something new for you. A custom request can not be placed for the dolls I already have listed. A custom request is for a different doll or some major difference in the doll. A custom request will not change the time it takes to make a doll. Please understand ALL my creations are fully handmade by me and only me. I have quite a backlog and there will be some wait time. At the present time it is possible for it to take two to two and a half months for your purchase to be completed depending on whether it is an item that I already have made some preparation ahead of time or whether it is something new that I am designing for you. Please also allow for brief delays for happenings that are out of my control.

Payment must be received before work on the doll begins. You will be notified that your doll is on the way when it is ready to ship. If you need it for a specific date please let me know and I will work to accommodate your request. We can communicate along the way and I will keep you updated. Please understand that I do all the work by hand and by myself...I have no helpers plus I live an active normal life with all the chores and activities anyone else enjoys so sometimes it may take a while to be finished. When you see my work you will understand that it is well worth the wait.

Very nicely made doll! I love this pattern/style. I did even out her ponytails which were a little crooked. I would love to buy another doll from this maker!

These are the most beautiful, exquisite dolls ever. They are made well and each is a work of art. I love Huck Finn and can't wait to buy more! Packed with care and made with love. Thank you Frances! Your dolls make me so happy!

This young man contacted me to design and make a very large doll (six feet tall) for him. Well into the process, after all supplies were purchased and I had spent many hours designing this doll, he had buyers remorse and demanded a refund. He used a number of excuses and became abusive. He harassed and threatened me. As soon as he placed the order I had to go out and buy all the supplies to make the doll and supplies to ship an item this size. I had never made anything this big and it was a challenge I was pleased to take on. She was quite a bit more work than I anticipated, more time consuming and I discovered I had underestimated the cost but we had a agreed on a price and I didn't ask for any extra. I am very proud of the doll, it actually turned out much better than even I expected and was exactly what he requested.

About

Handmade cloth dolls and fabric creations designed and made by Frances Tarleton.

I have been sewing since I was three. Soon after that I started making dolls and stuffed animals. I loved making clothes for my dolls and quilts and bedding for them. In High School I made dolls for my friends to resemble their boy friends. As a young adult I made dolls and other items for church bazaars and club events. When my children were growing up I started making dolls, stuffed animals, and doll houses to sell. I participated in a number craft fairs. I made and sold thousands of dolls and related items. As my children were approaching college age I found myself on my own and went to work full time. During the next 20 years I spent all my time and energy working with the public. My creating was put on hold at that point. After much water under the bridge of life I am retired, live in my own apartment AND I have my own studio/sewing room! I was very excited when I found Etsy and the possibilities it offered. Opening my shop on Etsy has made it possible for me to reach more people and make my creations available to them.

Most of the items you see for sale are already made and ready to go. Some items are made to order and won't be made until they are ordered. There will be a waiting period for those items and that will depend on how many orders I have already.

In most cases I will ship to you Priority Mail with a confirmation number or first class parcel. Your purchases will be packed with the utmost care to arrive in perfect condition.I ship once a week and unless it is a special order it will be shipped within one week to a week and a half after payment is received.

My work is very important to me. I aim to send you the finest handmade items that can be produced. Every stitch I make is made with loving care. I make collectable dolls and others items and I am very grateful to the customers that purchase them. Over the last few years I have shifted my focus over to dolls and animals for play. Maybe it's because I have Grandchildren now. When you are little and the world around you is so big it's important to have something soft to hold onto. A favorite soft cloth doll or animal has comforted many little ones and made it possible for them to have a good nights sleep.

As long as I can remember dolls and sewing have been part of my life. Both my Mother and my Grandmother sewed. I am happiest with a needle and thread in my hand and a fabric shop is my favorite place to shop.

I've been sewing and making cloth dolls since I was 3 years old. My Granny taught me to hand sew and my Mama gave me needle, thread and scraps of fabric. For many years I made and sold my original design, handmade dolls while my children were young. I am now retired and hoping to use my sewing skills to help make it easier to live on Social Security. I have raised a family (now have grandchildren) and retired from a career in retail management. Now I can return to my first love.

Original Cloth Dolls are my main focus but I also make various other fabric products. I make pincushions, miniature quilts and stuffed animals and occasionally doll clothes and bedding. All of my designs are my original designs and are handmade by me.

I am listing my pincushions first and will add other items in the near future. Each pincushion is one of a kind, and each one will be slightly different from the next one. They come in three sizes: small @$9.50 (circumference approximately 8 1/2 inches); medium @14.99 (circumference approximately 13 inches); large @19.99 (circumference approximately 15 inches). They are made of high quality cotton or cotton blend fabric and trimmed with embroidery thread and buttons. They are stuffed with non allergenic polyester fiber. They come in a variety of colors and fabric designs.

My pincushions are pretty...made from bright colored fabrics and appropriate trims. They make attractive decorations in addition to being very practical. they are sturdy, durable, and hold up well. Don't be afraid to actually use them. You CAN stick pins in them. I have had a fascination with pincushions because I love sewing so much and a pincushion is a necessary tool. I have seen (and bought) many beautiful pincushions only to ruin them by excessive use. My pincushions are designed to be attractive but to still hold up under use.
