Announcement   Clovetree handspun yarn and art yarns are made from hand cleaned and dyed wool from small independent farms with good animal welfare and ecological ethics. Hand dyed and painted Teeswater locks for dolls hair, spinning supply or felting come from an award winning flock.
I love using British rare breed sheep, and working with the best quality product is always at the forefront of my mind.
Long locks for Waldorf or art dolls hair and lockspinning are lovingly, carefully and thoroughly cleaned before they are hand dyed.
I spin on my Majacraft or Ashford spinning wheels, and weave on a rigid heddle Ashford loom - usually in Saori style.
In Clovetree I find the space in which to express myself in a medium that I love. It took years of experimenting with different medium - clay, paint, silversmithing and many others! I finally found that working with the soft fluffiness of wool is where my heart is.

If you want to keep up with what I'm making, and how I make it, come and see me here:

... and I'd love to meet you, so say hello too!

Extremely soft and clean locks. Very high quality and lovely colors. I spun them into a Merino single ply as tails and the skein is beautiful. Thank you!

About

Wrapped in Design

At the end of the day, when the house is quiet, the children asleep and the house (not quite) tidy, I take my yarn, my fiber, my spinning wheel, all the joy of the day, and I start making something. I reach inside myself for shape, texture, color, memories, dreams. An idea that had taken form all day long, whilst I did what mothers do, starts becoming something. I add and count stitches, work out dimensions, and when I pick up my needles, my idea becomes three-dimensional. Real.

As a solo parent, moments of peaceful concentration are precious. An absolute joy. Essential.
My youngest has started school recently, and I am now immersed in dyeing and spinning (all day long!). I revel in making art yarns, where I find expression for my every mood. I am also exploring the possibilities to show my yarns in hand woven accessories, and soon listings for those will start appearing.

Clovetree grew from all this. The little seed of my creativity. A wish to make something from nothing, to share it.

I am lucky to have the support of wonderful, loyal and helpful friends. You can see them wearing my designs - they all model for me quite happily. Although Clovetree is a one-woman business on paper, in actuality, there is a whole community of love and support behind my work.

If you want to see new works in progress, want to share ideas, or ask questions, come and join me here: https://www.facebook.com/Clovetree It would give me the opportunity to meet you, and I'd really like that!

Hello there!
Thanks for supporting Clovetree. I strive to make this a pleasurable experience for you. My patterns are designed to enhance your wardrobe, and for the joy of knitting. Patterns contain a picture, and instructions are written in full. If there's a chart too, this will be mentioned in the pattern listing.
My hand spun and hand dyed yarns are all pre-washed with organic vegan soap that contain a hint of essential oi (no palm oil - I have ethics!)l, so they should arrive fresh and lovely at your door, I only use professional dye colours, and I use vitamin C to set the dye. Yarns are all measured carefully, and though I do sometimes round the number off, there will never be less yarn than stated in the listing - often there will be slightly more. It is up to you to make sure that you buy enough to finish your project.
If you want anything particular, please convo me, I'm sure we can work together to get you the exact yarn or pattern you want. Send a swatch if you like...
