Hello! Hello! We are doing a test/soft reopening for the next few days! I'm crossing my fingers with all of you that cruising will resume as planned! Please note that we do have some scheduled closings, so be sure to skip to the bottom to see when those are, that way we can all make sure you get what you need on time! We will also be closed (in vacation mode) Saturdays and Sundays during June, July and August. We will reopen Mondays for ordering by 12 Noon Eastern time.

We booked our cruise last minute but she was able to get it to un in time for departure. Thank you! The cabin steward said people were taking pictures of our cabin door. Fun!

COCOBEANS doesn't have a remarkable story, but it is uniquely ours. It started with a struggle that many families face called infertility. After several years we were blessed with a son, an ultrasound photo and a name. We knew we would call him Cohen, and from that very first photo in the womb, he was our little "cocobean".
From about 12 months, it was obvious that he didn't experience the world the same as other children, and we were offered an autism diagnosis. The diagnosis didn't quite fit, and with the help of teachers, therapists and doctors, we were able to learn that he had a sensory processing and modulation disorder. It presents in many similar ways as autism and requires similar therapies.
If you know anything about autism or sensory issues, you understand that sometimes your beloved child copes with life through controlling the environment and fixations. My Coco is obsessed with Batman. Not just any batman, but BLUE batman. (He is also obsessed with BLUE). Our dog is named Blueberry Batman. This will also be his (update) 5th year in a row dressing up as Batman for Halloween....
When you have a child that obsesses and idolizes and can't move forward when things are not "just right," you find that there are not a lot of products out there that meet your needs. This is when I turned to photoshop to create the things that I needed to express myself artistically, but also as a mother.
I discovered ETSY as a perfect place to purchase the things that i needed that we couldn't find from everyday retail shops... and then one day it dawned on me... "I can open an ETSY shop....I could do that..." It actually started with a batman birthday invitation.. which no one has purchased to this day. :0) HOWEVER, as my baby has grown, explored other interests and challenged me as a mother, our ETSY shop has also grown to reflect that. His passion for super heroes and Disney has infected our home and our little etsy shop. I understand that every child is different, which is why I customize my orders to meet your needs, and make changes at no additional cost. I try to let each shopper know through my listings, that if you need something you don't see, to please contact me! Let's collaborate together.
