Life is just one big puzzle...
Who doesn't love a good jigsaw puzzle? The hours of mental challenge is enough to make all the world's problems go away. At least that's how it's always been for me. And I like hard puzzles, like super hard, with non-typical imagery and patterns. And I always have a hard time finding ones that satisfy my needs. So... I had an idea... what if I make my own? (That thought is what actually gave birth to the CobbPodgery Shop...) So... I bought a Dewalt 788 Scroll Saw... and it sat in a box... for a year...
And then my husband got sick. Like REALLY sick. ICU for 3 months sick. Idiopathic Viral Myocarditis with Cardiomyopathy. That's the medical terminology for "he almost died on me 4 times after contracting a series of viruses that attacked his heart". 2015 was a very rough year for us. BUT thanks to some extremely fantastic doctors and nurses at The University of Pennsylvania's Presbyterian Hospital, and the unbelievable support of family and friends, he not only survived, he thrived. Three years later, and though he is never going back to work, our family is intact. We are so incredibly thankful for that. But, understandably, everything got put on hold for a long while as the whole family recovered from that.
I started making a go of things here on Etsy in mid 2017 but even more interruptions came. And now, here we are in the Fall of 2018 and I can finally say: "Here I am!"
Skill wise, I am definitely a jack-of-all-trades, so you will see this shop change and morph over time. From traditional media, to digital, to wood, to fabric, I touch on everything and new items will depend on where my whims take me. And my whims often require me to learn new skills (refer back to the scroll saw...) most of which I master very quickly. With a background in both science and art, my subject whims are just as far reaching as my skills are.
So keep an eye on me, because new things will be popping up as time goes on. The ideas are endless...
