I love love love this turban! It stays snugly against the skull without being too tight (or too loose) and isn't dislodged by movement or wind. It's so comfy that it's easy to forget you're even wearing it! SO glad I bought this.
Macabre Millinery is the product of a gothic girl with a love for headwear.
The idea for the shop came in 2011, when I first got into the world of millinery. Since then I have wished for an opportunity to merge my love for the darker things in life with my love for creating something new, and share the results with the world. And here it is, finally.
It is no coincidence my shop specializes in headwear. I am a trained milliner (a hatmaker) with two degrees in the field and lots of experience. In the past four years I have studied and worked with fashion professionals and milliners in three countries and had my pieces featured in a fashion magazine, a music video, and magazines dedicated to millinery. I have also just finished my first years of studying a Bachelor's Degree in Costume Interpretation with Design in North East England.
I am hugely inspired by the Victorian era, mourning fashion, and the gothic and metal subcultures. These things are the main inspiration for my headpieces; Through elements that are beautiful, sweet and dark I wish to convey the beauty in the macabre.
Quality and good craftsmanship are something I value highly, which guarantees that all my work is made to the best quality. Re-using materials and giving a new life to older pieces of clothing is close to my heart, and many of my pieces feature vintage or other re-used materials.
At the moment I work from my home in Helsinki, Finland.

Accepted payment methods

All orders will be shipped through the Finnish Posti Group Corporation (Posti). When shipping outside Finland, Posti might forward the package to another national posts to finish the delivery.
Small, soft products will be sent in padded envelopes when possible, but all other products will be sent as packages.
Posti estimates shipping times as such (not including the drop off day):
• Finland: 1 to 3 business days
• Other Nordic countries (Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland): 2 to 5 business days
• Rest of Europe: 3 to 7 business days
• Rest of the world: 6 to 14 business days
When the package has been paid for and handed to Posti, the responsibility for shipping on time and/or any possible damage and/or loss of package moves to Posti and the shop is not to be held accountable for the actions or mishandlings by any delivery company. (See “Refund policy” for more information.)
All the shipping costs listed are estimates counted with the Posti shipping cost counter.
The customer is responsible for all possible extra charges related to shipping (e.g. customs fees).
All orders will be sent to the customer’s default address, unless asked otherwise. Please make sure your address in your settings is up-to-date.
Refunds and Exchanges
As all my products are hand-made, there will be some minor imperfections as it is possible to produce perfectly flawless pieces by hand. Small imperfections (such as some visible stitching and colour variations) are not an acceptable cause for a refund. It is the customer’s responsibility to handle and store the product in a manner that ensures long life to the product. Please note that products featuring vintage materials can be especially fragile and need extra care.
As all my products are pre-made, it is the customer’s responsibility to make sure they are buying a product that they are able to wear. Items that are found to be too small, too big, or impractical by the customer cannot be refunded or returned, unless it is clear that the mix up has been caused by misinformation on my part.
I pack every product carefully to ensure safe shipping and best protection to the product. However, in the case that the product has been damaged due to a packing error on my part, refund is possible. If such thing occurs, please be in contact with the shop so we can discuss the extent of the damage and a possible refund/replacement.
The shop is not responsible for products that have been damaged due to mishandlings by the delivery company, delayed or damaged by force majeure, or other non-packing related errors.
