I was very pleased with this plaque. It arrived quickly and was exactly the way it was show in the photos. Just what I was looking for -- a nice wooden hand-painted cut-out plaque for my younger son to be similar (not the same theme, but also made from similar materials and style) to one that my mother bought in Italy for my older son.

Joanne is an amazing artist. Do yourself a favor and order one of her signs. This is the third sign I've ordered from her. The first two were gifts and this one I am lucky enough to keep for my little boy. She is so collaborative and it is such a joy to work with her. I am excited to have a piece of her art in my home for years to come!

About

A Love Born. A Passion Found. A Sign Made.

In 2005, I made an ice cream parlour sign. In 2007, it was a Welcome Sign. In 2008, a son was born, a passion found and a Custom Name Sign was created.

After designing my signs on paper and the computer, I hand cut, sand and transfer the design onto wood. That's when the work really starts as I paint the sign. I fill in the background with a larger brush but all the details are done with the smallest paintbrush I can find. The bristles of my favorite brush are 1/32 of an inch at it's widest point. The painting is slow going but the crisp lines are my reward. When the sign is finished I go over it very carefully and touch out any errors before spraying it with a protective coat.

All my other items follow the same painstaking attention to detail and employ that tiny paintbrush. My friends laugh at me and say I am anal but I just smile and say the end justifies the means.

Cheers :-)

Additional policies and FAQs
Custom Orders
My payment policy for custom orders is 50% payment upon ordering to cover the initial design process which is quite extensive and time consuming. For this I will create a custom listing in my store and once you purchase it I'll start designing your sign. This fee is non-refundable once I start the design.

When the initial design is complete I'll create a second listing which will include a photo for your approval before I start cutting any wood. And when the sign is finished I'll upload further photos of it to this second listing so you can see it before I package it for the mail. At this point I'll ask you to pay the final 50% installment plus shipping and then will mail your sign to you.
