For the Love of Fonts!
At a very young age I had a passion for fonts and design. Sounds crazy right? How as a 12 year-old kid do you form a love for great design? I don't know how it happened but as other kids were learning powerpoint and how to use floppy discs, I was downloading new fonts to my computer and experimenting in Adobe Photoshop. As I entered high school I delved more into art and graphic design. I joined the yearbook staff, at a school known for its journalism program, and attended countless workshops and classes on design. When I went to college I made a natural transition to working at a t-shirt company. My skill set changed from Photoshop, Lightroom, and InDesign and I immersed myself in Adobe Illustrator. I worked creating Greek and collegiate organization t-shirts for four years, and actually continued as a freelance artist as I started my doctoral degree. Coffelt Designs was born two years later, when I was creating a koozie design for my own wedding. I showed my work to some of my bridesmaids and friends and after receiving so much positive feedback I decided to open a shop on Etsy. I thought "hey I can make a business out of this," and I started designing a few koozies to get the shop open. And here we are now!
