A very warm welcome to the Cold Case Investigation Unit. 🕵️♀️ I'm Catherine, I have a lot of experience with the criminal justice system (no not like that!!) and I use all of my experience to create the most realistic crime solving games for you.
I studied Law at University although decided it was a little too boring for a career after completing my degree (much to the horror of my mum!).
I decided that I wanted to work with perpetrators of crime and quickly found a role within the Youth Offending Team in Leicester, I worked with young offenders to divert them from a life of crime.
After 5 years I craved adventure and so joined Leicestershire Police. Within 2 years I had been selected to work as a Detective and quickly passed all the necessary exams. After a further 11 years, mostly working within the force domestic violence unit, I decided (having been forcefully told by my GP) I needed to leave to rescue my mental health after suffering repeated periods of depression linked to my work
The problem was I loved being a Detective, working with and against criminals and cracking cases so I needed to find something to challenge my brain while not breaking it any further. A short time after leaving the police I wrote and released my first play at home investigation game....I now have 5 individual games and 2 individual advent calendar investigations & life is good!
It's *SO VERY* important to me that you have a great experience with my games. After 5 years I am still overwheImed at the idea of people worldwide enjoying the products of my brain and I frequently shed a tear of joy at the amazing reviews you guys have left me.
My aim is to offer games which very closely emulate the real Detective investigation experience. I recreate forms that are still used in the police today, the type of evidence collected is true to life and I interweave real situations I have experienced with witnesses and offenders alike throughout the games.
