Thank you so much! This was exactly what I was looking for.
Creating jewelry since 1995, rockhounding since 1980, and lovin' every minute of it!
I first began my shop here on Etsy in June of 2011, after my first year of disability. It took me a bit to find my bearings after becoming disabled from intense cancer treatments I received in 2009 for stage IIB cervical cancer. My body didn't recover as expected, and I eventually had to accept that I now had a new normal. Being a workaholic prior to cancer, I was pretty lost when I was no longer able to work. Once I began to get accustomed to my new normal, I decided to continue my long time love of jewelry making.
I had previously sold my jewelry in many local art shows, craft shows, and for 10 years at The Welcome Center in the Asheville Regional Airport, where I worked as a right hand to the owner. Since 2007, the welcome center is no longer in operation, an art gallery now occupies the space. I always did well with sales at the airport and at the local shows, so I figured I would try my luck in an online marketplace. During the 10 years that I worked at the airport, I worked for one of the kindest people in the world, Bill Black. He taught me everything he could about how to run an honest successful business. The knowledge I gained was invaluable, as it was much like taking business courses with real-life applications. I learned how to run a completely honest, customer service based business. Success has a lot to do with how one treats their customers, and in my case I will do everything I can to make sure that you are 100% satisfied with your experience. Your happiness is way more important than the bottom line for me! I do my very best to operate in a transparent manner, and I am more than happy to answer any questions you may have about my policies, skills, supply sources, and any other information you would like.
When I was growing up in the 70's and 80's, things were good, folks had jobs, consumer goods were made in America, and the family unit was strong. I realize that we can't step back in time, but the part that I can have influence over is in the area of consumer goods. I will NOT buy any supplies that are made in China. I work very hard to get absolutely as many supplies as possible from sources in the USA, made in the USA; not just being imported in the USA and then sold by a business based in the USA. All silver and gold that I buy is from the USA. As many gemstones as possible are from USA mines. Of course, there are gemstones that are ONLY found in unique parts of the world, and in the case of these gems, I buy gems from verifiable international sources. I will not contribute to the inhumane practices of warlord controlled mining areas, nor to corrupt governments that do not share the benefits of gem mining with their citizens. This is the reason why I do not have certain gems in my inventory. If I cannot find verification from reputable sources regarding the practices and policies of an area or country, I do not buy from them. I source a good many gemstones from gem shows that roll around twice a year, and there are international dealers as well as domestic dealers. I buy 99% of my gems this way. I do not like to buy gems from online sources for the most part because it is too hard to verify the info I need. When I do buy online, it is from a certified gem dealer.
Because of my policies on buying supplies, I tend to pay a little bit of a higher price than if I were to buy supplies from less reputable sources. I've always been a firm believer in that you get what you pay for, and in my case that holds true. Even though I may pay a higher price than other artists, I still structure my pricing to where I give you the absolute best price I can. This is where the honesty part of successful business comes in. Sure, I could probably charge more, but I certainly wouldn't feel right about it. If I could, I would just give my work away instead of charging for it, that's how much I love to do it! Unfortunately, I am not independently wealthy, lol!
When I first started my Etsy shop, I mainly offered silver and gold plated metals and only semi-precious gems, normally in a beaded form. Since then, I have moved more toward working only in precious metals and semi-precious and precious faceted gemstones, resulting in a finer quality piece. As time progresses, I will eventually get to where I no longer offer silver or gold plated metals. For those that aren't looking to purchase a sterling silver or gold piece, I offer the much more economical alternatives of silver filled and gold filled metals. They have a much longer lifespan (so to speak) than their plated cousins. As a general rule, the filled metal options are only nominally higher in price over the plated metals.
I do not use any supplies that contain nickel. People with metal allergies normally have a high sensitivity to nickel, including myself. At the current time, there is only 1 item in my shop that has nickel and it is clearly identified as such. The majority of the plated metals that I do work with are plated over a base of surgical steel, sometimes brass, and in rare cases, pewter. Surgical steel, brass, pewter do not contain nickel, so folks with allergies should have no problem.
Owner, Maker, Designer, Curator, I'm A One Person Operation, I Do It All!
Hi! My name is Teresa and I live in Cruso, NC. I've been making jewelry for 20 years. I'm finally acheiving a lifelong dream of creating finer jewelry. Major changes are in the works this year as I shift gears & release new designs, retiring others!
~As I mentioned in my profile, this area of NC is loaded with gems. We have over 56 different gems and minerals that are mined in the Western North Carolina area. I have been gem mining in this area since I was a young child, and have been working on getting those stones in the proper condition to use in a series of designs that I will be releasing at some point in the future. In fact, I have been mining my property and I have found star sapphires, citrine, white quartz, blue quartz, amethyst, rhodolite garnet, black tourmaline, mica, and gold. That's one of the reasons that I love living where I do! I have been doing cold metalwork, personalization, and hand stamping for years and now have a few years of experience with metal smith work, solder work, and forging with heat, and gem setting. As my skills evolve so do my pieces. I hope you love and enjoy your jewelry as much as I did making it! See my profile and about page (still being created) for more information about me and the area I live in. Thanks so much for stopping by, enjoy looking around!

On your copy of the invoice, which is included in every order, I have provided a complete list of care instructions for all the different metal types and gemstone types that require special care and cleaning. Also directions as to you to where you can purchase the recommended cleaners.
I do offer wholesale prices for businesses that are interested in carrying my jewelry. Please message me for more information on my wholesale prices and policies.
I do offer wholesale pricing for non-profit organizations. Please message me for pricing and policies.
I rarely offer wholesale pricing to individuals, however I do offer discounts for larger quantity orders. This would be quantities like 24 or more of a particular item. This does not apply to jewelry making supplies as I already price my supplies at wholesale/discounted pricing.
Can you hand stamp messages on both sides of the charms you sell?
Unfortunately, I cannot stamp on both sides of any of the charms that I offer, as they are not thick enough to handle the impressions without showing through to the other side. At this current time, the only items that I have that can be stamped on both sides are the sterling silver bar charms and sterling silver bracelets and rings that I haven't had time to get listed yet. Message me to inquire about personalized sterling silver bracelets and rings.
Do you accept exchanges and returns?
Yes I do. I accept exchanges at any time as long as the item being exchanged is in the same condition as it was when you received it.
I accept returns for a full refund within the first 30 days of ownership for any reason. I consider the day you receive your order as the first day of this time period.
See my policies on exchanges and returns for more detailed information.
