Announcement    Welcome to Sue Catt Creative, home of textile & collage artist/designer/maker & 'fabric-mixologist' Sue Catt, in the lovely seaside town of Port Lincoln, South Australia. My clothing and homewares are labelled as COLORS Australia (my former business name)

I am influenced by my ever evolving collection of vintage and global textiles and the travel involved in sourcing them…unfortunately now limited to armchair travel and internet purchasing due to Covid19. Yet I am happiest when creating and playing with colour and fabrics in my cozy home studio.
I create unique clothing, homewares and accessories using beautiful textiles sourced from near and far....predominantly natural fibres (cotton, linen, hemp, bamboo, leather, wool) my own handdyed/painted/printed fabrics as well as vintage and recycled elements. I particularly like Japanese vintage kimono fabrics, Balinese ikats and batiks, Chinese brocades...as well as upcycling vintage lace tablecloths & doilies as well as teatowels, tablecloths and other household linens. SLOW fashion at it's best :-)

Because of the nature of collecting fabrics, all my designs are one-off original pieces, never to be repeated!!

I hope you enjoy and appreciate them as much as I enjoy creating them....if you have any questions please send me a message.

Also please visit my FB page https://www.facebook.com/ColorsAustralia for more information about me and my art etc....also check out my instagram page https://www.instagram.com/suecattcreative/
And my website www.suecattcreative.com.au

And of course look me up if you're ever visiting Eyre Peninsula in South Australia!

Regards and thank you for stopping by....

Colour your life...

Hi, I'm Sue.
Collage and textile artist, designer and maker in my business, Sue Catt Creative with my label Colors Australia.

I create unique pieces, using my passion for colour, textiles and collage. I explore my mind, my heart and ultimately this wonderful place we live, earth. I love to source fabrics all over the place...near and far, past and present. My textile collection is continuing to evolve as I travel to more often to various countries.

My inspiration comes from many places and things…rainbows, spirals, feathers…Alice in Wonderland…Dr Suess…leaves, shells, fish…Buddhism and other religions…far away exotic lands…the martial arts…chakras and crystals…the heavens and stars….paint, dyes, threads and yarns…fashion and fetish….light and dark….and many places in between. Some full of insight and meaning. Some more playful and whimsical.

Having trained in fashion, I continue my life long love affair with textiles and sewing in my business. using constant experimentation and playfullness to come up with new ideas. And also am now teaching dressmaking and craft classes, passing on my skills and passion to eager participants.

I enjoy collage (in textile pieces, on canvas based art and greeting cards) in that it brings an environmental awareness and an eco friendly aspect to my work. Slow sewing and sustainable fashion are important elements in my business. Found objects and recycling/upcycling feature heavily…in particular vintage kimono fabrics, tablecloths, doilies, lolly wrappers, gift wrap, feathers and other ephermera.

Positive affirmations and symbolism are a big part of my life, so I extend these into my art. Most pieces carry a message of hope, good luck and peace…please enjoy them as much as I enjoy creating them…smile, relax, remember to breathe…and treat yourself!
