ConchoCreekPottery's Shop Announcement

Add beauty to every day with our durable, handmade pottery.
Every piece is wheel-thrown by Rich Hepp at his Concho, AZ studio.
Rich mixes his own glazes from carefully sourced minerals to insure that his pottery is 100% lead-free and safe for everyday use. Rich has been making his high-fire pottery for 35 years. He fires with a gas kiln which enhances the unique molten effects of the glaze. Each piece is fired to 2400 degrees which makes the most durable pottery possible. Once you try one of his mugs, you will not want to drink from anything else.

Being a one-man studio, Rich handles every piece of pottery at least a dozen times. There is generally about a 6-week process to make a single piece of pottery. For this reason, there is no way to get "overnight" pottery and there is a limited amount that Rich can produce in a year's time because he makes every piece by hand. By Thanksgiving time, the last pottery of the year has all been wheel thrown and waiting for glazing. Any new pots that Rich throws after Thanksgiving won't be ready until next year. For best selection, shop early for your holiday purchases.

Our policy is to ship within 5 business days, but we usually ship 3 times per week, usually on Mon, Wed, Fri. If you need faster shipping, please contact the shop by email--we respond promptly. We will do our best to meet requests for same day or next day shipping.

Please browse our listings and feel free to email us if you are looking for a stock item in a size, color, or quantity not listed here--if we have it ready to ship we will let you know right away and arrange a "reserve" if needed. Although every piece has unique markings that distinguish handmade pottery, we do our best to ship well-matched items. We will email photos of "reserve" items before we accept payment and ship. We cannot take special orders for items not in our current inventory, nor can we do wholesale orders.

We ship all items "at cost." This means we charge exactly what it costs to ship by USPS plus materials. Whenever possible, we use USPS boxes. However, most of our pottery can be packaged more securely in our own cube boxes. We realize the cost of shipping has increased and we make every effort to keep the cost as low as possible by packaging in the smallest boxes possible to insure safe shipping.

We use new materials for shipping. All items are bubble-wrapped and packed into a box large enough to absorb shock. We incorporate as much kraft brown paper as possible to minimize use of plastics. Larger orders are usually double boxed with styrine peanuts in between the boxes for added protection. On international orders, we use more bubble wrap and occasionally substitute a clay box to get the weight down and keep shipping costs lower.

We do our best to post accurate shipping prices, but sometimes the cost for shipping your item(s) is lower. In this case, we will promptly refund the overage by the same method you paid. You will receive an email notification.

In the rare event that an item is broken during shipment, it will be replaced promptly at no charge within 10 days of original shipping date. If you feel there is a defect in the pottery you purchased, please contact us within 10 days of purchase. We may ask for a photo of the broken or defective item.

If you find that the piece you ordered is not exactly what you wanted, please contact us right away. We will accept returns of unused items in original condition within 10 days of original shipping date. Full purchase price (shipping excluded) will be refunded.
