To have fun and be a dork (or just a nerd).

I've always played around with the idea of making things for sale, but was too self-conscious when it came to illustrating or rendering and never really understood how to price commissions and time. This shop is me realizing there are other ways to *make* without having to worry about doing one-off works. I can create things I like, I can calculate the cost of materials, I can price items on a market value that, to me, is more tangible.

This is fun, this is what I like. I can - and do - still illustrate and paint, and in the future I hope to incorporate some of that work into this shop. For now, I hope you enjoy the little accessories, costume props and pet toys I offer.

Returns and exchanges
If you are concerned an item was lost in shipping, please check the information in my shipping policy, or contact me directly by starting a Conversation. I'm always willing to go above and beyond in trying to get all customers their purchased items.

If an item was damaged in shipping, please send me any pictures of the state of the package and item. This is important as it lets me file an appropriate claim with the carrier while making sure I also am able to send you the correct replacement.

If there are any other concerns, damages or mistakes in your order of a regular-shop item (not custom order), I simply ask you state any concerns through a Conversation. It's hard to make any blanket statements on most other issues, as that really depends on the situation. I'm quick to respond to all Conversations, typically within the same day, if not within a few hours.

Custom Orders that have been agreed, payed and started are non-refundable.
Custom Orders that have not entered the labor phase may be refundable or partially refunded, but generally not.
Custom Orders that are on a Payment Plan (Example: Down Payment, Phase 1, Final Payment) that are cancelled will not be refunded, however unpaid phases will be cancelled and no additional expense will be due.
Regular shop items are paid through Etsy. Once paid they are qued to be shipped. If you have issues getting your payment to process, just let me know in a Conversation and I can try to resolve that issue with you.

For Custom Orders payment can vary. At the start of a Custom Order I'll get whatever information I need from you in regards to design, time frame and materials. In this exchange we'll discuss cost and payment. If your item is a larger project that has many processes, I may split the order into Phases. Phases will be clearly defined and marked with payment deadlines for each Phase. I will not move on to a new Phase until the payment requirements are met.
Note, Custom Orders are generally not refundable as they require labor above and beyond my regular shop items. For more information please read the Refund Policy.
Priority Shipping items or Expedited/Next Day shipping items are processed on the same day as they are ordered. If this is before shipping offices close, they will be shipped out same day - This is based on US Pacific Time.

All Standard Shipping orders are processed and shipped on Wednesdays and Saturdays. This is in an effort to ensure all items go out in a timely manner and to reduce my carbon footprint.

Domestic and international shipping options will vary on size, weight, delicacy, and type of item. Any specific details will be shown on individual listings. If you are uncertain or need an item delivered by a certain time, start a Conversation with me and I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have.

While this is incredibly rare, there have been instances where items were lost/not delivered by the shipping carrier. There are a few ways to question if this may have happened. If any of the below is the case, please start a Conversation with me immediately:
~ Tracking the item and it hasn't left a specific location for several days
~ Marked as delivered but never received (check your local post office)
~ Domestic: it's been over 2 weeks
~ International: it's been over 5 weeks

Note: If an item was shipped and delivered and then after the fact it is revealed the order was placed listing the wrong address I may not be able to issue a replacement or refund. This is entirely dependent on the item and shipping selected. PLEASE be sure to verify your shipping address before completing your order.
Additional policies and FAQs

*** Is this your full-time/only job?

Yes and no. I'm a freelance contractor for several companies in addition to making the items in this shop. Depending on my schedules, I dedicate more or less time to each company or project. That said, I always prioritize custom orders above all else!

*** Do you attend any conventions?

Conventions are currently on hold. I would like to attend some again in the future, though. I'll update the shop with news about conventions as I go, so be sure to check in here or on social media!

*** Do you do requests/commissions?

As for requests on items you'd like to see in the shop, I do read them, but I cannot guarantee that they will make an appearance. Then again, maybe they will! Request away!
I gladly take commissions, feel free to start a Conversation to initiate contact! If you don't have an Etsy account you can also reach me at ContraDorktion [!at], but due note, I check Conversations considerably more frequently.

*** What do commissions cost?

This varies by item, size, material and time. A general guideline for BASE prices is listed below:

~ Clay items, such as AmiiBeau Accessories - Start at $10
~ Mixed materials, such as Katara Necklace - Start at $20
~ Silicon molds (not sold in shop) - Start at $40 for small items or open-face molds. Does not include cost to clay-sculpt an original item.
~ Resin items - such as pins (this involves making a silicon mold) - Minimum of 10 casts per mold. Start at $5 per item. Recasts or larger bulk may reduce price per item.
~ Fabric items, such as pet toys - Start at $25
~ Paintings - start at $45, and go up depending on size and medium

Be clear in your description and send images when possible. If an order needs alterations or adjustments beyond the agreed terms, you will be charged by-the-hour for time spent on the correction on top of the original price. The hourly rate is currently set at $18. If a complete re-do is necessary, this will result in doubling the base price.
The key here is to be detailed and informative and supply pictures. The more I know what you want, the less issues will crop up. Don't be afraid to write a lot, but do be sure to be specific and clear. Lengthy descriptions are not always more detailed.

*** What is the time frame on custom orders?

This varies based on factors like upcoming conventions, other custom orders in the que, and personal obligations. I'm very up-front about when I have events that might delay production and always ask the priority level of an order from the start.
Expedited order production and delivery is possible, but do note, that the prices for both the item/labor and the shipping go up the sooner the item needs to be completed. This is especially true for revisions and re-dos.

*** Do you do art/shop trades?

There was a time where I would readily say yes to this, but currently I am going to have to decline. That isn't to say you can't offer, but it is rare and far between when I will take a trade these days (bills are a bummer).

*** Do you link exchange?

Maybe! This depends on what we're sharing links to and from, but generally I'm happy to link to other Etsy Sellers, artists, and sites I think share or reflect my own interests and products. I won't link share with unrelated blogs, sites or items, though since I think it's more likely to deter people from sharing or following links in the future.
