About

The Creation Coop is a collection of things made by me or that inspire me.

The Creation Coop was created by me, Kevin Cooper, as an outlet to share my art with others.
Originally I started with hand painted vinyl record clocks and guitars. But I also started wire wrapping the year I opened shop. All these things I did started as some hobbies. Working out of my bedroom, The Creation Coop was really just a side thing for fun. I've been an artist, musician, crystal collector, and nature lover in general, almost all of my life. Around this same time, I was inspired by things I saw in the music festival scene. There's so much creativity and such an awesome community of interesting people that you meet at festivals. Not to mention you get to see the country through traveling. So I began trying to vend at festivals occasionally, which gave me the wonderful experience of vibing with my customers in person. Since I was young people always told me I was creative, so finally I decided to do something with that creativity. Hence my Creation "coop"(which is coincidentally part of my last name) was born.
When I sold my first item, something that I had made myself using my creativity, it was the best feeling I could have as an artist. I never thought someone would actually like what I made enough to spend their hard earned money on it. This inspired me and gave me the confidence to keep thinking of ideas and keep creating. I've come a long way since then.
Now I've progressed a lot as a wire wrapper/jeweler, mineral collector/rockhound, and a musician. I was in a band, The Sakima Connection, that played several shows and festivals. We even released an album on Spotify called, Whatever Moves Your Wheelhouse. I have a huge collection of minerals that I personally dug out of the earth and/or broke out of bigger rocks. I even make jewelry with the stones I've found. I also make a large variety of crystal hat pins and earrings. I've also experimented with growing my own bismuth crystals and took it further with growing them on quartz crystals and glass. Now I am into photography and love taking nature photos when I'm traveling, which now I transfer onto a variety of items(clothing, coasters, guitar picks, koozies, etc.) with my sublimation printer and heat press. The sublimation printer has got me using Photoshop more which has influence me getting more into graphic design. The goal is a always progress, so ideas just keep growing and I'm getting better all the time. But the main goal is having fun and bringing beautiful inspiring stuff from my world to yours. Follow me @thecreationcoop on Instagram to see crystal pics/videos, the freshest jewelry, music videos, traveling photos, and more. Enjoy this peek into my life!
