After finishing school I started searching for a goal in life. To achieve this I crossed several continents, did multiple jobs along the way and had a lot of experiences. This ended in 2018 when I found what makes me happy: woodcrafting.
After a course on business and halfway a funiture building course at Encora (Berchem) I decided to take my first steps into the world of entrepreneurship: Cor Quercis Furniture was born. It would become a furniture workshop based on sustainability, durability and creativity.
After my course at Encora I knew Cor Quercis Furniture had a future. I decided to expand my skillset by starting another course at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. Whereas Encora paid more attention to the handling of the machines, the Academy focuses on the craftsmanship and old techniques (no machines allowed).
Today (20/3/2020) Cor Quercis is starting to gain more recognition in Antwerp. Providing the people with a clear alternative to steer away from our current consumptionism is one of the main goals of Cor Quercis Furniture, bringing people closer to themselves and nature through craftsmanship another. I hope my furniture brings the people the same as it brings me: a peace of mind, pleasure and admiration.
Make sure to follow Cor Quercis Furniture on social media, and to have a look at my website. Even though they may not yet be listed on Etsy, all Cor Quercis Furniture can be ordered at your request. If you have any ideas for furniture yourself and are looking for someone to build it, feel free to send me an email!
Thanks,
J.
