5 out of 5 starsI found this shop and purchased this Ashiko drum after doing some research into what drum to get a family member for Christmas who would like to become more involved in drum circles. I was personally seeking to avoid pine because of potential issues with moisture - the cherry wood is nice - and also found what I was looking for in the goat skin head, as opposed to others I kept running into on the internet made out of deer skin. The shop owner appears to have a few different choices with such things, however. Additionally, the color accents on the rope, which is very secure and sturdy, are very nice. Perhaps most importantly, it is, as advertised, a medium-pitched drum and it sounds great when played! I'm happy that was the case as someone who is no expert when it comes to these instruments. This Christmas gift was a success.
