Looking for creative inspiration, Kristina stumbled upon some wine corks one day in the winter of 2011 and started thinking about the possibilities...

Kristina's love of animals led her to make the first ever Cork Creation - a dog figurine named "Proto." The items in the shop are now many and are forever growing in number. Kristina enjoys the challenge of creating new works and is always learning new ways to manipulate and experiment with the remarkably versatile material of recycled corks.

Upcycling is a powerful process and has always been very dear to Kristina's heart. The history behind objects is a fascinating concept and now the history behind each cork will be preserved in its new life as a work of art. Looking at the corks as she cuts, drills, wires, and glues them into something new, Kristina cannot help but reflect upon the journey that each has taken over its life - the people who drank the wine, the events they were celebrating, the memories, and the people's lives they will touch in the future in their new form.
