Announcement    Why a Corsets by Caroline pattern? Variety of designs and customer care! I'm a corset specialist, also; lots of information is included with your corset pattern (a 25-page manual of corset construction notes is included). Please note that this manual is not send with non-corset patterns.

I only create corset patterns and have been doing it full time since January 2016 when I started creating a pattern every 6 weeks for my $5 Patreon patrons.

I answer queries as soon as I possibly can, I will send you any updated pattern to your e mail (I often add more sizes and tweak designs), I re-lay designs on larger formats if you ask (and one doesn't already exist), I draft to <0.2mm - seams are trued spectacularly! I basically communicate and help in a way that you will not see with other larger pattern companies. Specialist independent pattern makers like myself give you a personal service and truly care about what we do and your buying/ making experience.

For many of my patterns I include various tops and bottom sections so you can mix and match to arrive at a size nearer to what you need. I put a huge amount of effort into my patterns because I absolutely love creating them and coming up with unusual designs - my clients make this possible and every single order is so greatly appreciated.

Thank you for reading!

Additional policies and FAQs

FAQ's
1. What type of made-to-measure patterns do you currently draft? A number of my listed designs can be drafted in different sizes however there may be limitations - bust size etc.
2. How are my measurements transposed on to a flat pattern for your made-to-measure option? Your waist measurement will measure your exact measurement minus your desired reduction. Your under-bust and full hip measurements are drafted to your measurements taking into account your desired gap at the back of the corset - a small amount of ease is added to your under-bust and hip to accommodate displaced waist flesh.
3. How can I print out the pattern from the .pdf file? The pattern needs to be printed out as its 'actual size' in the centre of the page - there is a scale line on the pattern to check the scaling is accurate. The pattern needs to be printed out on US letter 'A' or A4 paper and sections taped together as per the instructions.
4. Does the pattern include seam allowances? No, you will need to add a seam allowance to the panels. This allows you to accurately mark the sewing line on your fabric - precision is everything in corsetry!
5. What if the toile/corset doesn't fit if I have opted for a made-to-measure pattern? It is imperative that a toile is made up first to test the pattern. First check that the pattern has been cut out accurately and that the scale measures 100mm or 4'' then check that the panels have been stitched exactly to the lines of the pattern. If not, make these adjustments and test the fit a second time. If the rib compression and high hip adjustments are not comfortable on your made-to-measure pattern, or if you would prefer a change of the drafting curve please get in touch. I am happy to tweak every pattern once post toile - it's a collaboration! Remember that it is not possible to know how a body will change when corseted, and only a toile will establish that - a pattern can be made size-specific, but there will always be some necessary tweaking.
6. Can I use the pattern to make a corset to sell? Yes of course, but it would be great if my brand could be acknowledged or credited if you do sell a corset made from one of my patterns. If the pattern is to be used numerous times however (more than 10) it would be good to support small businesses such as my own by buying the pattern again or purchasing a different one. A line of ready-to-wear corsets from a pattern made by an independent pattern maker is not fair or ethical.
