How I make my panels

About

I am an encaustic artist in Seattle who works with wax on wood panels. To prepare my backgrounds, I spread wood glue on the panels, and then light the glue on fire! It caramelizes into random interesting patterns, into which I rub water color paint. After I'm happy with the background, I fuse hot wax onto the panel and then use encaustic pigments to paint these scenes.

While I sell prints and cards on Etsy, please contact me if you have any questions or if you’re interested in purchasing an original encaustic piece on a cradled wood panel.

I create & ship all my work with great care.
