Welcome! I create linocut prints and encaustic art.
I am a Jewish queer printmaker, encaustic artist, and healer in Seattle, WA. I create art inspired by my relationship to real and imagined creatures, including mammals, humans, and birds.
I work with linoleum and non-toxic oil based ink.
I also work with encaustic, beeswax, and pigments on cradled wood panels.
I create & ship all my work with great care.

5 out of 5 starsI'm already a big fan of Wendy Elisheva Somerson's work. I purchased this print for a friend's birthday and it is gorgeous. The colors are rich, the detail is crisp, and it arrived in perfect condition. It's hard not to keep it for myself. There is a mystical and earthy quality to the artist's work that I love.

How I make my panels
About
I am an encaustic artist in Seattle who works with wax on wood panels. To prepare my backgrounds, I spread wood glue on the panels, and then light the glue on fire! It caramelizes into random interesting patterns, into which I rub water color paint. After I'm happy with the background, I fuse hot wax onto the panel and then use encaustic pigments to paint these scenes.
I create & ship all my work with great care.
