I make costumes!

Hi I'm Jeanette, and I make costumes for Theater and Dance.

My love of costume began when I was a dancer. I loved dancing, I especially loved pointe shoes (I know, weird!), but I also loved the costumes! So much pretty! All the sparkles! Sitting in a dressing room, putting on makeup, then putting on something beautiful to become something ephemeral for a while! Who wouldn’t fall in love with that?

As time went on, I fell more and more in love with my time backstage than on stage. I found that my talents lay with creating the costumes that would transport the dancer to that magical world. I loved my time as a dancer, and I think that helps me connect with dancers, and actors, so much now. I know the power of a costume to lift up the performer and support them on stage.

I’ve been working as a Designer, Draper, and Costume Technician for the past 15 years. I have been blessed to work with an array of talented people in dance, drama, and musical theater. Every interaction has informed my work, pushing me to be my best self for the performers on stage.

Whether you’re here to shop for dance wear, theater costumes, cosplay, or historic inspired clothing, I will use my years of knowledge in costume to make you feel every bit the beautiful, wonderful, magical character you wish to be!

Frequently asked questions
Why are your items more expensive than in stores?

Making a one of a kind garment is inherently more expensive than buying from a store, but in return you get something uniquely you. I buy fabric just for you, so I don’t get to benefit from bulk pricing that manufactures get. Then, I’m hand making each piece. In a factory, a cutting machine will cut out a stack of fabric with dozens of the same pattern pieces all at once; I’m doing yours one at a time. Finally, I’m making it especially for you and your needs. There will be no other item quite like it in the world! All these special needs add up. But I promise you, the price is worth it for the quality and wow factor!

Custom and personalized orders

If you can’t find what you need through my listings, I’d be happy to create custom items for you! Contact me through conversations and we’ll work out the details. Going this route will be more expensive than the “build your own” model I created in the general listings. All custom orders are $100 and up.

What kind of packaging do you use?

So glad you asked! I believe in the first two “Rs” in “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle”! That means I save any boxes or packing materials and reuse them when I ship you purchase! This has the added benefit of reducing the cost of your item - I never buy packing materials so I never need to pass that cost on to you. Also, it keeps these items out of the landfills, which is especially true of plastic and Mylar envelopes which cannot be recycled. It saves money and the environment!

Is that a cat I see in your shop photos?

Yes it is! I work from home, and that little bugger will not be denied access to me at her whim. I carefully lint-roll every item before it’s sent, but your items do not come from a pet-free environment. Wash before wearing to be extra sure there’s no fur or dander on your item.
