About

Swoops and swallows, gates and walls

I make all my pieces ... from the design, the test piece to each final project that my customers receive. I live in the Cotswolds, a gorgeous part of England with stone walls, and very pretty towns and villages. My love of this area shows in a lot of my work; little wrens, the flight of the swallow in a summer sky and the old five bar gates have provided inspiration. I design something a bit different, with an edge, or style, flowers that look like they should be growing or an abstract piece with a special emotional connection.

I often work with customers and their old or inherited jewellery to create new, up to date pieces.

I've always made things, as a child I spent hours with scissors and paper, having a go with my Dad's tools. I joined a silversmithing course after many years of waiting for the right time, and have not looked back. Immediately I made the jewellery that I wanted to wear, and after learning to set stones I could add colour and sparkle. I was surprised and overwhelmed with compliments and sales from friends and family which spurred me into making it my business.

I have a lovely studio, with natural light and all my tools around me. It's my haven and very lovely, I enjoy being surrounded by gems and the tools of my trade.

I'm very conscious of the environment and source recycled and ethical materials wherever possible, re use outer packaging and only use recycled gift boxes, or for special rings handmade Shaker boxes from James Morgan, a local craftsman.

Each and very piece is made with excitement and a bit of trepidation ... will I get it just right? ....will the customer love it? I don't really have a 'best bit' in the process, I love it all, from making and photographing to hearing my customers feedback. But essentially it is the process of the design, from deep inside that works its way to a tangible piece, something special for someone to treasure that is deep satisfaction for me.

Additional policies and FAQs
I make every effort to ensure an accurate description of items and use accurate photographs. Due to the handmade nature of my items, each item will be unique. Please be aware that colour depiction can vary slightly with different computer monitors.

** Please measure carefully for ring sizes ** - for a good fit use a ring gauge at a jewellers, (flexible plastic ones are not accurate), be measured for the style of ring you choose - broad or slim. I can make rings in any size - unusually large or small, half and even quarter sizes. I convert your ring size - (e.g. from US to UK) add your size in the buyers comments. However, if you have made an error in sizing, I have to charge for resizing (sometimes it isn't possible) so measure carefully.

Silver items over 7.78g, gold items over 1g will be hallmarked and include my makers mark from the Sheffield Assay Office according to UK regulations. An extended making time reflects this, expedited hallmarking can be arranged, again, contact me for a quotation. If you would like to include a hallmark and my makers mark on a piece of jewellery, please also contact me for a quotation.

Each item is boxed prettily, suitable to give or receive. I always use new recycled inner packaging and reuse outer packaging for posting. I include jewellery care information, and some bits to keep your jewellery beautiful.
