Quality product! Ethically sourced! Incredibly comfy! And I received it very quickly in the US. I can't recommend the cotton poet enough.

Vielen Dank.

About

Who cares about presidents? It's you and me who change the world.

I mainly write books for a living, which is wonderful and I feel very grateful for being able to do it. However, while words on paper can be very powerful agents to help with change, ultimately words alone won't change anything. So the last few years I felt a desire to apply some of the things I write about to a business project. Hence COTTON POET was born - a way to combine words and ethics with an everyday product like a t-shirt.

All designs are done by me. The shirts are from Stanley & Stella - produced with organic cotton and under fair conditions in Asia and Europe. It's a very transparent company, making clothes that are both ethical AND fantastic to wear. The screenprinting is done by Black Star - based in Berlin they're one of very few places that do GOTS certified screenprinting.

There's a growing number of people and companies offering clothes made with organic materials and under fair conditions. I feel inspired by them and together we share the same belief - that neither the Earth nor people should suffer for the stuff that we buy.

THANK YOU for supporting organic & fairtrade clothing!

Everything should be organic, fair & soulful - shouldn't it?

Production partners

  • Black Star - Screenprinting

    Berlin, Germany

Black Star is a small screenprinter in Berlin. I chose them because they are a relatively small but very professional business. Also, they are one of only few places in Europe who offer GOTS certified screenprinting.

  • Stanley & Stella - organic & fairtrade t-shirt manufacturer

    Brussels, Belgium

Stanley & Stella shirts are simply fantastic! They produce their clothes under fair conditions in Asia and Europe, and their shirts are both GOTS and Fairwear certified. Find out more: https://www.stanleystella.com/sustainability/
