Country Critters started out of a need. I have been taking paintings and photography to competition shows for years.

When I was a child I always wanted to own a greeting card store. I loved cards, the verses and artwork. Today there is a lack of communication between friends and family. Cards are not sent on a regular basis like they were years ago.

I started making handmade greeting cards for art fairs using my photography and art. At some point life got in the way and everything went on the back burner.

One day I decided that the closets were bulging from art. Everything needed a new home. My work was good, the awards that I had garnered over the years proved that. So I decided to offer my work to the public for their consideration. I opened Country Critters and started my store.

Family obligations once again came to the forefront, so once again my work went on the back burner. However, I never closed my store and in 2012 I began the re-opening process.

Coble Printing Co. is a small town print shop that does quality work and is co-owned by and award winning artist. Any work that is processed by them will be of excellent quality and workmanship.

This time my Etsy store is here to stay as I am nearing retirement. I am starting my second career and enjoying the gifts that God has given me. My newest venture is writing and illustrating children's books. One day soon, the books will be posted for sale in Country Critters.

I have rescued unwanted animals all my life. The inspiration for the photos and paintings come from many of the rescued animals in my life. The proceeds from the store help to support the animals food and medical care needs. Click on the farm website link to visit Dobby the "house pony". Dobby was going to be put down because he was a dwarf miniature horse that was showing signs of deformity and crippling when he was just a baby. We have done extensive surgeries and have given him six years so far. He lives in our house.
