Mary is such a delight. Great communication and even accommodated my request for an African fabric. If you are considering purchasing from this shop go ahead and buy it. You will not regret it.

About

Hi! My name is Country Cutie and I’m here to tell my story.

Once upon a time long, long ago in 1995 in a faraway land, well actually in the craft room, my creator was working on her dolls and getting ready for a craft fair. She kept me aside for a few days and thought “what can I do to make her different from my other dolls?” As days went by, she looked over and saw her beautiful fabric bag that was filled with plastic bags and the light bulb went off over her head. She had the brilliant idea of slipping this pretty fabric bag over me and creating a dress that can be used to recycle plastic grocery bags and add a little whimsy to someone’s kitchen. After several weeks of trying on different patterns and fussing with my hair and makeup, she finally got me just right.

She decided to make a few more “cuties” just like me using different dresses and off we went to our first craft fair so she can show us off. From that very first fair she knew she had created someone and something very special, so much so, she sent my design off to the Library of Congress and had me copyrighted in 1995 and my official name became Country Cutie Bag Dispenser ©, and as they say, the rest is history.

She sure does have a great memory, doesn't she? Hello and welcome to my world of the Country Cutie Bag Dispenser ©. My name is Mary and I created my Etsy shop to bring her back out of retirement and share her with the Etsy community. I’ve always loved crafting and sewing since an early age. My mother taught me to sew in my high school years and I made all my outfits to wear to school. The urge to craft again started when my children were young. Through the years I had opened a small craft shop, sold my dolls and other crafts there and in a small shop in the Poconos, but it was my Country Cuties that were the most popular selling over a thousand of them through the years. I even sold her in shops in the Cape Cod area and in the Country Marketplace Magazine.

Unfortunately, due to crafters burnout, I decided to get a full time job and retire from crafting. Fast forward 15 years later, now an empty nester, still with a full time job, I needed to fill my extra time with something fun. So right after Christmas I went to my husband and my children and told them my idea of an Etsy shop to bring back the Country Cutie and they could not have been happier and gave me their blessing. Without them, I would not be here. So here I am, back in the world of the crafting to share my Country Cuties with all of you.

Thank you for stopping by my Etsy shop. Please don’t be a stranger, as I will be adding more colors, patterns and themes as the months go by.
