Thank you. Love this old classic.
Vintage, Primitive, & Cottage Chic Home Decor and Gifts
Some of my earliest memories include getting up early on Saturday mornings with my mother and her friend and hitting up the yard sales. We used to get out the newspaper on Friday evening and circle all the "good" ones and then we would map out our route.
In the winter time we used to plan out when each of the craft shows were. Not only to get those one-of-a-kind gifts for our loved ones, but also for inspiration.
All year the thrift shops were good alternatives to not finding any treasures that day. Those cashiers pretty much knew us on a first name basis. My favorite was the Humane Society Thrift Shop, right on Main Street in my hometown of Walla Walla. The building is still there, but the store has closed.
As an adult I still have that euphoric feeling when I find a treasure, but sometimes that treasure just doesn't fit in my house. That perfect tin just won't fit in with the others...Or that linen is so beautiful, but doesn't quite fit my antique table...Or I get home and find that I have a duplicate.
My crafting has evolved over the years. I began crocheting when I was 12, making jewelry when I was 14 and in high school enjoyed paper crafts and card making. When I had my first son I began sewing. He wanted Sponge Bob pjs and I found the perfect Sponge Bob flannel fabric at the craft store. They were supposed to be pants, but I got them upside down...or maybe reversed, not sure but they ended up being shorts!
Since then I've learned to sew much better, quilting and clothing being my favorite. I have also taken up knitting although I still prefer to crochet....but I love the look of knitted items. Each item is designed and crafted by me. I make my own patterns and most often they are completely one of a kind.
I originally opened my Etsy shop to share my vintage finds, but as I have a passion for crafting I have started adding those creations as well.
