Announcement   Currently: I'm at work on a Sonoma County Wildlife Series, juicy vineyard landscapes, drippy florals, hidden dragons and mixed media abstracts on our barn wood.

I'm just getting my tiny shop open following the wildfires in Sonoma County. We were spared damage within 2 miles of our ranch. Not one rainy day since late summer/early fall of '17. Scary times...

I'm adding more paintings and having prints made. I presume my prints will be available in standard frame sizes to keep your costs down. The largest be 8x10/11x14.

Enjoy and please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions.

About

I paint my road less traveled, back of beyond, into the weeds + trees. Nature is my dearest muse.

My paintings are expressive, evolving from complex feelings and moods. I suffer from depression, PTSD, ME, asthma and degenerating discs with chronic pain. Painting has always been part of my psychotherapy AND my medication. The free expression of joy through color and nature's gifts has always given me a deep sense of peace and joy.

Decades of country living far from other people have shaped my artistic instincts. I am largely self-taught. I learned to trust my intuition and accept my individuality. I happily walk my own path. Nature holds my hand, lending support and a warm place to land; a source of security, healing and self-knowledge.

My morning walks gift me a small level of fitness and other small offerings. Tiny footprints in a muddy creek bank from some small creature coming for her morning drink of water. Deeply touching, so small, simple and perfect, forever etched in the clay soil. Even smaller ones surround her footprints. Baby prints as perfect as her own.

I want my work to be gently felt and softly evoke emotions known yet maybe, unfamiliar. Food for the soul. I have learned the that freedom, peace and joy are vital for well-being, yielding a well-lived life. Knowing our hearts and sharing them freely has great value in our crazy, often violent world. My art is a small offering toward that end. 12/7/17

Paint flowing, jarring, splashed around. Juxtapositions, always color! Willing to explore beneath, underneath. Colors bright and also soft, sing to you. Loving the whimsy of my crestfallen beagle, eager birds, trees turning all colors but green!

Frequently asked questions

Custom and personalized orders

If you would like a painting you see here or my website but in a larger size, please contact me for details. Each painting will be different in some ways because of the nature of watercolor, gouache and/or acrylic. And the whims of the artist. I rarely do commissions now due to my strong-willed crossed wires! Painting is a very individualistic pursuit and to do it well, I must use my weird sensory perception of Synesthesia.

No worries! We will exchange many emails with photos for your continued approval. You may cancel at any time. I ask for 30% down to help offset the paint/canvas costs, etc.

Do you sell mattes/frames?

Not generally but do know where to find what I like best, generally barn wood frames or rustic woods, sometimes in chalk paint, usually painted by moi. I rarely use metal frames, preferring the wood's textures.

I have a stash of 2ply 12" mattes for my 8" wildlife series paintings for a nominal fee. Again, just convo me. I can price frames/mattes for you and frame them if you prefer. I do my own framing for my work nowadays(they cost?!?!?!?)

I'm happy to give you a fair quote and shipping costs if you feel you might like this option.

Sizing details

I try to be very specific about the sizes of my work. I list dimensions of each painting in the listing. However I do sometimes miss something you might need/want to know. If so, like a question regards frame sizes or matting, simply contact me.
