About

Otaku mom selling her crafts

As a homeschooling mom/stepmom of 4, I needed a way to keep my sanity while not spending a lot of money. So I found crafting. I love to make things and to show my love for all things nerdy, but we have a small house and can't fit all the things I make! So to make room for more crafts and make some extra money, I sell some of my crafts. This allows me to have an outlet for my creativity, as well as buy things like food, video games, and more yarn :)

I make everything by hand myself in the USA (to be more specific, in Griffith Indiana, which is close to the border to Chicago). I don't get any "assistance" from "manufacturers". I package and ship everything myself, I clip coupons to buy materials myself, I respond to emails myself; I do EVERYTHING myself. I hope that someday the kids can help with at least some of that, lol, but I will never send my ideas to a sweatshop overseas and call it handmade. I want stuff made with love and care, something that is going to last; not something mass produced that will fall apart just as quickly as it was made. I assume you want the same.

My house is smoke free. I do have a dog. If you have severe allergies, give me a heads up and I can take extra care and wash your item before shipping.

I sell yarn and project bags over at yarncast.etsy.com

My name is Amanda. I am a nerd, gamer, wife and homeschooling mom/stepmom. I love making crafts on my own and with my kids. To make some extra money (and space!) for our small single-income home I am selling some things I've made.

Care instructions

Amigurumi (and anything that is stuffed) is surface washable only. Wool items such as hats and mittens must be handwashed in cool water and laid flat to dry. Acrylic hats can generally be machine washed, but check individual listings.
