Sharing My Shell Collection

In 2007, while living in Florida, I decided to collect one of each sea shell that washes up on the Florida coast. On my quest, my collection grew to boxes and boxes of shells and other items, like sea glass, sea beans and beach rocks.

When my family moved away from the coast I decided not to store my beach finds in boxes, but rather make decorative crafts with what I have and sell and share with others. The bulk of the collection I donated to a school where most children don't have an opportunity to get to the coast. And, most of what I created has sold. But my last creations are sand dollar ornaments. They make a great gift any time of year.

In 2020, my husband and I moved back to Florida and no live on Longboat Key. I'll get back to the sand dollar ornaments in 2021 so watch for new sets in my store.

Although I gave away or sold my collection, I still maintain at least one of each shell that washes up on the Florida coast and some other items I'll keep for fun. My list of shells came from a book, "Florida Beaches", by Blair Witherington. I highly recommend you find this and other books by Blair.
