Bravely Attempting Something New
I started my shop in the fall of 2011. I had no experience making a craft and trying to sell it. The extent of my buisness experience was making cookies and selling them to raise money for pediatric cancer research the year before. I decided to start Cranberry Pines because I wanted to nurture my creativity and really try something new.
I chose the name Cranberry Pines because Christmas is my favorite holiday and I wanted a name that was warm and inviting. One that invoked images from the movie "White Christmas". Plus, as an added bonus it includes the classic holiday colors of red and green.
I decided to make Christmas ornaments because I thought it was something I could reasonably handle; at the time I wasn't too confident in my sewing abilities. I wondered if anyone would actually buy something I made. However, with the Christmas theme I would never run out of ideas and would love what I created even if no one ever bought a thing.
Since the launch of Cranberry Pines, I have learned a lot (and am still learning). I am more confident as a seller and really take pride in my work. I have branched out into other items and continually have ideas of what I could make next. And now I know I can meet the challenge of attempting something new.
I hope Cranberry Pines accomplishes exactly what the motto says, "Making your days merry and bright." That is my goal: to bring joy and sunshine into your home.
Cranberry Pines is still starting out in a way, but I hope one day my shop makes the world merry and bright.

My name is Michelle and I love craft stores, chocolate, and old movies. And books, I can't forget about the books. Currently I am out of space on my bookshelves, but I continue buying books because I love them.
Each item is hand-stitched and unique. I love creating and designing each item and strive to present the very best.
