Unique, Originally Designed Handmade Pet Accessories for Small and Exotic Animals with a focus on safety, comfort and style!

I adopted my first Sugar Gliders in the summer of 2009 and quickly fell in love with them! At that time, I was buying much of my accessories and cage items online. After being disappointed in the quality and styles of the current cage sets I was receiving, I decided to start sewing my own custom cage sets and eventually my own bonding pouches, scarves and accessories so I could make them exactly how I wanted them. Each design is my own and has been lovingly thought out and rigorously tested for strength, safety and quality before being offered in my shop.

The first time I thought about sharing my designs was after one of my gliders had an accident. The creation of the Snuggle Buddy Hedgehogs came as a way to comfort my Sugar Glider, Cody, when he sustained a tail injury and had to be quarantined to heal. Without his cage-mates, Cody quickly began stress grooming, stopped eating and his recovery significantly slowed. Concerned, I wanted to create a safe version of a stuffed toy for him to snuggle with and be his recovery buddy. This lead to the development of the Snuggle Buddy Hedgehog; It was perfectly sized, soft and pre-scented by his cage-mates. As I hoped, it helped to comforted him long enough to see him through to a full recovery! With that success I started realizing you could use them for many situations and a friend suggested I share them with other owners as a bonding/therapy tool. See below for the various uses of a Snuggle Buddy!

With the initial interest in my Snuggle Buddies being overwhelmingly positive, I was encouraged to start adding other items I was making for myself, like my unique OOAK Adjustable Bonding Scarves designed to fit more comfortably across the neck and shoulder, also my wide style Bonding Pouches and Hanging Fleece Ball Pits.

I am always developing and trying out new custom designs/products and looking to improve on our current ones. All designs you see are my own creation and are usually in production/testing for quite awhile before offering them in my shop. As I receive feed-back, I will continue to adjust and improve on the designs and available options. I hope you enjoy my CreatedMoments.

WHY YOU SHOULD GET A SNUGGLE BUDDY: If simply having a cute, cuddle companion for your pet is not enough, check below for other reasons why this is a must have!
1. Separation Anxiety;
Perfect for pets going to a new home. All breeders know the stress that can happen when young are separated from their parents for the first time. The Snuggle Buddy can provide a soft, solid comfort with a familiar scent for baby's to hold on to during and after travel. Before your Joey/Chinchilla/Hedgehog goes to its new home, place the Snuggle Buddy in the parents sleeping area/pouch so it retains their scent then send it home with the joey. This way your baby has something familiar to snuggle with while adjusting to a new environment.

2. Bonding;
Bonding with a new pet takes time and patience. A Snuggle Buddy can be a great way to get your new pet used to your scent during the bonding process! Wear the Snuggle Buddy up against your skin for a day then slip it into your gliders/Hedges sleeping pouch for them to snuggle with. They will start to associate comfort with your scent. It can also be carried along in a bonding pouch to give your baby a feeling of security in this new situation.

3. Pet Introductions;
The Snuggle Buddy hedgehog can be a great tool for 'scent swapping' when trying to introduce two new gliders/hedgehogs to each other. Scent swapping is an important part of the introduction process, to cut down on fighting risks, before actual introduction of two animals. Place one Snuggle Buddy in each separate cage, preferably where your pet typically sleeps, then swap them after a day. This lets each animal safely get used to the scent of the other, giving them a chance to 'snuggle' before meeting.

4. Hospital Cage/ Quarantine;
These are great for the individual pet (glider) who needs to be moved into a hospital cage for recovery or is in quarantine. Being separated from cage-mates can be added stress, especially if they are not used to being on their own. By giving your baby's something soft to snuggle and sleep with during its recovery you can help reduce the anxiety during this temporary separation. Bonus, have two Snuggle Buddies that you can use to 'scent swap' between your main cage and your hospital cage to give your pet (gliders) a familiar scent to sleep with.

CreatedMoments is home to originally designed, handmade pet accessories. All my own designs including my unique Adjustable Bonding Scarves, Bonding Bags/Pouches, Snuggle Buddy Hedgehogs and other fleece gear made for small or exotic pets. I am happy to custom make something just for you!

Returns and exchange details
*Because of the nature of the items and the unpredictability of pets, I can not replace or refund items intended for/used or damaged by your pet. This includes chewing, washing damage, torn/chewed zippers or incorrect usage of item. I do not replace items with zippers broken/damaged due to rough use, pet chewing or getting caught/yanked though no fault of my own; only if the zipper was already damaged/defective when you received it.

*I do not accept returns on customized items. Most of my items are custom, made-to-order, so I only accept returns or exchanges if the item is defective. If for some reason you feel that your item is defective please contact me with photos of the defect within 7 days of delivery and I will work with you to have it returned where I will either replace, repair or refund the defective product.

*Any return accepted for reasons other than defect, the buyer is responsible for ALL shipping costs (including return postage). Items returned must be in new, UNUSED condition and any refund given will be for the item ONLY minus the original shipping cost and a $5 restocking fee for my time and effort.

*I DO NOT provide refunds for lost, delayed, damaged or stolen packages. These things are out of my control and I am not responsible or at fault. You can have packages held at your local Post Office for pick-up if you are concerned about theft or will not be home for delivery.

Payment
I use Direct Checkout. Most items will ship 2-3 weeks of payment clearing, but this can change depending on the number of orders received in a week. Thank you.
Shipping
All shipping is tracked and you will receive a tracking number to follow once your package has been shipped. Please be sure to have an updated/current address BEFORE you check out! Any returned shipments due to an incorrect or undeliverable addresses will be held until a new shipping payment has been made, I will NOT reship for free. I am also not responsible for delivery to an incorrect/old address or package loss as a result. Most Post Offices with hold or forward mail if you realize there has been an address mistake while your package is in-transit or if you do not have a safe location for delivery.

After a package leaves my hands I no longer have any control over it and we are not responsible for shipping delays, lost, damaged or stolen packages. You are required to have a secure place for packages to be delivered and as such we can not refund for stolen packages. You can have packages held at your local post office for in-person pick-up if you are concerned about theft. Any stolen packages should be reported immediately to your local police and your post office notified of the problem. Mail theft is a crime and should be handled by the appropriate authorities. If the package arrives damaged please contact your local post office right away and file a complaint, the damage/loss is the responsibility of that post office.

Items that are pre-made will ship within 2-3 business days of purchase. Items that are made-to-order will take longer with the turn-around time noted under the item. I try very hard to make the 'ship by' date but occasionally delays (also known as life) or an increase in orders can change this. I make everything by hand so I hope you can be understanding if an item ships out a little late. For fairness I do not bump orders on request, but do them in the order received.

As with any fleece item/cage sets, wear over time is expected so please regularly check your fleece item for loose threads, holes or tears to avoid dangerous hang-ups with your pet's nails, especially if your pet is a 'chewer.' As with any item pet damage is always a possibility and Created Moments is not responsible for any issues associated or caused by pet damage or incorrect usage of an item.

Each pet is different with unique personalities so please consider this if your pet decides they don't like an item right away.

Care instructions

All fleece, cotton, and flannel items can be machine washed on cold/gentle cycle (even the vinyl). However, items will last longer if air dried and less likely to pill or stretch. For serious staining I recommend a soak with dawn dish soap and vinegar to kill enzymes before washing to get rid of the vinegar smell.

Custom and personalized orders

I welcome custom and personalized orders. I am happy to look into and purchase new fabrics on request. The cost of the fabric is usually included in the item price except if it is a licensed or customized fabric.

Why no Cancelations, Returns or Exchanges?

This is because these are customized items. Each order is unique to the buyer's needs and these items take time to plan out and put together; Time to pull fabric, cut it to chosen size, include any specific modifications, pin it and sew it. Most items get cut within a day or two of the order and that fabric is now 'locked' into those specifications asked for, so a cancelation leaves me stuck with precut fabric. Similarly, I don't accept returns/exchanges for an item customized to someone else's specifications that another can't choose for themselves. As it is, premades may sit for months waiting for me to have time to take pictures, list it and then for someone who wants to buy that specific item/fabric/size and customizations.

What are Grommets and Pet Mesh?

Grommets and pet mesh are used in my bonding scarves for added air-flow. Grommets are small metal rings secured in the fabric and pet mesh is a flexible screen made of polyester and PVC coating that is pet safe. The option to add them to a scarf is free and a personal preference.

That pattern is out, will you get it back in?

Maybe! I have to limit how much of a pattern I make available in any one listing so I don't accidentally over-sell it across all my listing types. By carrying so many pattern options, and types of items, I have to be careful not to confuse myself (This is easy to do LOL)! I do this by only offering one of each pattern in a listing and then, usually ONCE a week, I re-evaluate what I have left and renew those patterns I still have enough stock of. So please feel free to ask about a pattern that is listed as 'sold out' because I may have more. This is not ALWAYS the case though, some patterns cannot be renewed if the suppliers are no longer offering it or are currently sold out of it.

Will my pet fit, what size should I get?

It is hard for me to know what size to recommend because I don't know your specific pet or it's measurements to see if it will fit. Animal sizes can differ greatly, not just between the various types of breeds, but also among the individual animals themselves and I am not an expert on every animal. I do expect the owners to better know what will and wont work for their pets. Sizing options for each item are stated in their listings so you can compare it to your pets' size and determine if it will work for you, but please feel free to ask about customization if you need something specialized. I am happy to offer an opinion if asked, but it really depends on what you are looking for and your specific pets' needs

When will I get my order?

Most items ship 14-20 Business Days from when you place your order. Turnaround is based on the number of orders I receive in a week and current work load. As orders increase/decrease so does the turnaround time - which means orders could be delayed. I have ALWAYS finished an order and I work hard to get them out on time but I do try to maintain a normal work schedule and life happens (health, family, holidays) so please be patient if there is a delay...I do all the work myself and it takes time! Also, I sew items in the order received and do not bump or move up orders on request. If I have time to get an order out sooner I will try, but not at the expense of someone else's order or my current work schedule.

If you have a suggestion to make my shop more user-friendly or if something is confusing, than PLEASE let me know! As a seller I sometimes miss the obvious and forget to include important info. If you think you have a good idea to make a listing better/easier let me know. I may or may not be able to make the change due to ETSY's limitations, but it would be good to know if there is a problem!
