I started my business after I bought my in-laws farm. My son was a new born and I needed money to redo the 200 years old federal house we were living in. I also wanted to care for my son myself.

My love of collecting flowers, gardening and drying flowers started at a very young age. I grew up in the country and spent a lot of time outdoors and learned to appreciate the beauty growing around me.

After I received my degree in horticulture I worked in floral shops for several years and decided to start my business when we moved back to central NY. That was in 1981 and I am still at it.

We live in the beautiful Finger Lakes region of New York State high on a hill overlooking the lake. It is beautiful country and we enjoy watching the deer, foxes and birds. There is more wildlife out there that we do not see but sometimes hear in the night! It is a lovely place to live and the fields and my gardens always inspire me to make something pretty.

My annual garden is hand planted, hand weeded, hand harvested and air dried in the second story of my barn. My flowers are all natural. If my flowers can't grow naturally I don't grow them.

I still get excited about creating new designs for people to enjoy in their homes. I have been a floral designer for over 50 years now. Many of my designs are one of a kind.
