This was going to be my suit. I never used it, just tried it on. The sleeve holes were too large and the tightness around the mid section squeezed me so bad it was terribly uncomfortable. It was also way too long, scrunched up too much in the mid-section to look even remotely attractive. I was very disappointed. The seller allowed me to return it (at my cost) stating it broke her own policy but she'd make an exception. She took 5% of the price I paid out of my refund. I have no comments to give about the fabric or it's quality, as I never used it.

The customer notified me that the suit didn't fit her and I promptly refunded her (minus a small restocking fee) despite the fact that this was a custom order and, ultimately, a loss for my business. While I worked according to the measurements provided by the customer, and after many years as a seamstress I hardly ever need to accept a return, I decided to accept this return because it was part of a larger order. I don't know what could have been done differently since the order was refunded and the 5% withheld is not even enough to cover the materials used.

This review is solely based on the quality of the swimsuit. For this suit in particular, we loved it at first sight. It was just as we'd ordered it and looked great on my daughter. Sadly, and much to our surprise, we noticed issues with her leggings after the 2nd time she wore it, and before it had even seen a washing machine. Elastic fibers in the inseam area started breaking and sticking through the fabric. I sent the leggings back with other items we had issues with, and was told the problem was indeed with the fabric. New leggings were made and both were returned to us - and even though it was a problem with the fabric, I was still charged shipping both ways. Otherwise the suit is ok. The dress fabric has faded quite a bit, new leggings are ok. I have pictures. I did trust it would be high quality :/

The leggings were returned to me. I was not sure what had happened to them. The crotch appeared worn out. I couldn't tell if they'd been handled poorly or if it was simply an issue with the fabric. I sewed another pair at no charge for my time or fabrics. I intended to send first class and pay shipping myself, however the buyer requested the item to arrive at a sooner date, and so she paid for Priority shipping. I'm sorry that the buyer is disappointed in the fabric's performance. I only use fabric that I deem good quality. Please keep in mind that sitting on, or rubbing up against rough surfaces, such as concrete, rocks, or board walks; will damage swim fabric. I am looking into heavy duty fabrics for young girls at the moment, which are less likely to show signs of wear.

This was going to be my suit. I never used it, just tried it on. I expected Capri length (just past the knee) leggings, and a skir that came to rest just above the leggings and inch or two. That is not what I received. We discussed a lot of details because of the number of custom suits I ordered, and my desires were lost in the communication. I assumed responsibility but considering the issues I had with the top, I chose to return the suit entirely. I was very disappointed, as I had looked forward to having a comfortable suit to wear to the beach/pool with my family. The seller allowed me to return the bottoms (at my cost) stating it broke her own policy but she'd make an exception. She took 5% of the price I paid out of my refund. I have no comments to give about the fabric or it's quality, as I never used it.

This item was made exactly as stated in the listing and there were no design flaws. I encourage all customers to please read the descriptions, and then if further customization of the garment is desired, to please message me with the details. It was not mentioned that she wanted the skirt extra long. I worked very hard to please her and do as she asked.

This review is solely based on the quality of the swimsuit. For this suit in particular, we did experience an issue that was my fault. I was not clear on fabric details and it did not meet my dauther's expectations. We returned the suit and paid to have it remade ($20 + the cost of returning it). When we received the new suit the leggings did not match the skirt. I contacted the seller right away, and she stated she would send us new leggings. We started to experience issues with other suits we ordered, and the leggings ended up shipping with the other repairs, and I was charged shipping for returning them even though it was stated the matching leggings would be sent to us at no charge. Otherwise the suit is ok. The printed fabric is showing signs of wear, leggings are ok. I have pictures. I trusted it would be high quality :/

I had 3 shades of navy. When I went to remake the swim dress with a solid navy skirt instead of the print, I chose the wrong navy. So the original shorts didn't quite match the new navy skirt. I remade a new set of navy bottoms at no cost to the buyer, because it was my mistake. I planned to send first class at my cost, however the buyer requested the items at a sooner date, so she paid for Priority shipping. All fabric will show wear when its being worn. Swim fabric is subjected to heat, chlorine, body oils, sunscreen... It requires special care, and even then it does wear out. I have made other suits in this same exact fabric (at least 3 others) and never received a complaint.

This review is solely based on the quality of the swimsuits, not the design. For this suit in particular, we loved it at first sight. The design was as we ordered, a skater dress with a longer skirt, and leggings to hit just above the knee. We requested sleeves and trim, and it has sleeves and trim. My daughter is comfortable in it, and it looks great on her. My biggest issue is that by her 3rd time wearing it and before it ever saw a washing machine, the seam between her suit top and suit skirt started to come apart, and a hole formed. Not long after, stitching in the leggings began to come out. I sent the suit back for repair, paid shipping both ways, and was told it was my daughter's fault for stretching it too much :/ The leggings show mild pilling. I have pictures. I really trusted the reviews re: the quality of these suits

The waistline seam had been stretched too far, had broken, and was unraveling. I repaired the seam because customer satisfaction is important to me. When a suit is wet, and a child goes to pull it over their head to get it off... This is the point at which it is most likely to stretch too far. The seams stretch well, but if pulled too far, a thread can break and cause unraveling. I am looking into ways to reinforce the seams on children's suits so this is even less likely to happen. The stitching of the pant's main seams were a little loose, but not at all coming apart. I resewed them with a tighter stitch. I went above and beyond to please the customer.

This review is solely based on the quality of the swimsuits, not the design. For this suit in particular, we loved it at first sight. The design was as we ordered, a skater dress with a longer skirt, and leggings to cover the knee. We requested sleeves and trim, and it has sleeves and trim. That said, the pinks used for the trim and leggings did not exactly match the pink in the print , but it was ok. My daughter is comfortable in it, and it looks great on her. My biggest issue is that by her 2nd time wearing the leggings, and before it ever saw a washing machine, stitching in the leggings began to come out. As it stands currently, the seam between her suit top and suit skirt has started to come apart, and she has a hole about an inch long forming. The leggings have started to pill and look very worn as well. I have pictures.

The hem had been ripped out at the bottom of the legging. I resewed the hem for her because customer satisfaction is important to me. Leggings can become pilled if the wearer is sitting on concrete or rocks, or rubs up against rough or prickly surfaces. I am looking into heavier weight fabrics for little girls that are more durable and can withstand being well-loved by children, without looking pilled.

About

This shop was born out of a desire to successfully be able to fit my modest swimwear designs to people, and for them to love it!

Starting out I literally didn't have much of an idea of what I was doing. I had 2 designs but I was rather clueless as to how to make my own patterns, and how to make them in different sizes. I had never used a pattern to make swimwear, and that's just how my mom taught me to do it. So what I wanted was completely backwards and contradictory to what I'd grown up doing. I gradually learned and studied how to draft and grade my own patterns. All of this took a lot of time, along with plenty of trial and error. In 2012 my selling of suits picked up quite a lot. My customers were loving the suits! I was thrilled to hear that the sizing was fitting right and that people loved my work :-)

Shipping
Shipping is by Priority mail most times, and the cost is $6.10. If it is a ready to ship item which does not weigh over 12oz, then it may go first class, and therefore cost a little less. Shipping may also be combined.

If you would like something sent next day mail, it will be sent by Fedex and the cost is $45.00 (Please ask whether or not I am able to send on the day in question. If its a weekend, I may not be home)

Shipping to Canada starts at $15 USD, and shipping everywhere else is very likely between $20 - $25 USD. If I am given your exact address I can calculate the exact cost. I can not mark a package as ‘gift’ when sending through customs.

Once a package is out of my hands, it is no longer my responsibility. Strange things can happen in the mail. Most of the time, things operate smoothly. If something should get lost that has been sent priority mail I have a specific timeline to file up to the amount it is insured for. $50 is the most it is insured for, unless extra insurance is purchased before shipping. If it does get lost, this is unfortunate, but it is not my fault. I will do what I can to reclaim the insurance money and return it to you.

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE CORRECT ADDRESS UPDATED IN YOUR ETSY/PAYPAL BEFORE SUBMITTING YOUR ORDER!!!! This is soooo important!!!! If a package gets shipped to your OLD address because you failed to update your info, the package will be marked as DELIVERED by the shipping company, and there will be NO WAY to claim any insurance on that package! It will very simply be lost. And it will not be my fault, because I will have sent to the address I was given. VERY IMPORTANT!! UPDATE YOUR ADDRESS PLEASE! :-)
Refunds and Exchanges
An unworn suit may be returned and your money refunded. There will be a 5% restocking fee.

A suit which I have customized the size/design/lengths for your particular needs, may not be returned.
Additional policies and FAQs
Consultation cost

The first 30 minutes or 30 messages are at no cost to you. After this there is a consultation fee that will be applied at the end of our discussion about your order. I am sorry to have to do this, but after one customer sent over 200 messages and used hours of my time, this is the way it must be. By placing an order you agree to these terms.

Alterations

If you have bought a suit and would like alterations, we can discuss cost for this on a case by case basis.

Q & A

Q. Does the nursing suit have a bra in it?
A . No.

Q. Do the suits have a lining?
A. Most suits have a lining in the front bodice. A listing will say whether or not it has one. On some occasions I will leave the lining out if the suit fabric is extra thick/heavy.
