Announcement   I create fun, fashionable and beautiful chainmaille jewelry and accessories to suit every style and price range. I love working with colour and the little rings I use to create have become one of my passions. Please enjoy browsing my shop.

My other love and passion are the fibre arts and in order to find a home for my lovely offerings, I am in the process of adding new stuff to the Knitters Nook - http://knittersnook.etsy.com. In that shop you will find a variety of high quality items such as handspun yarns, hand knitted items, shawl pins, stitch markers and other accessories. I will also start offering my new line of metal frame coin purses and clutches in that fun shop.

I will combine shipping from both shops. Please contact me if you'd like to shop at both stores and I will work out a combined shipping rate for you.

This is beautifully made and the colours are truly vibrant. Both the colour ways I bought ( blue and purple) are lovely. They are going to make happy little gifts! Thanks too for the fast delivery.

Updates

Craft show season is over... Back to focus on my shop. Starting by bringing these awesome chainmaille earrings.
I'm working on the lovely heart earrings listed in my shop.
My personal favourite pair of earrings. Choose surgical steel ear wires or upgrade to titanium if you have particularly sensitive ears.

About

Creating fun, funky and beautiful chainmaille Jewelry - One Ring at a Time!!!

I started my shop in the early days of Etsy, back in November 1996. I've been around for a long time and I don't intend to change that because I truly love what I do.

Back then, I was on maternity leave with my second child and my daughter was just in Kindergarten. She was interested in playing with beads so I bought her a bunch of inexpensive jewelry making supplies. As I was playing with her, I figure out that it would be really fun to try making jewelry with the good stuff and that's how I set out.

Eventually, my attention got caught by some chainmaille kits and I tried it out. That was the end of it and I was hooked.

At the heart of creating chainmaille jewelry are two pairs of pliers and many, many, many jump rings of all different sizes, wire gauges, diameters, colours and materials. The basic concept is simple. Open and close the rings needed for a project using the two pairs of pliers and weaving them into a variety of intricate patterns. I love so many different chainmaille weaves but the one I probably use the most is a commonly known pattern called Byzantine.

My studio is my home. There are rings in every room of my home and I work wherever I need to be at any given time. Most often, you will find me working right in the centre of the household action, at the kitchen table so that I still can direct the business of a household with two school aged children and spend time with them. I work full time in an office setting and even there, I have some rings and pliers so I can work on some pieces at lunch if the need to be creative strikes.

I hope my love for what I do shows in the pieces I create. And so, the journey continues.
