Here's a little bit about me and how I got started on Etsy!
Welcome to Creative Handknits! I started my Etsy Shop back in 2008 after years of selling my Hand Knits at local Bazaars and even had my Hats and other items in some of the local Crafter Malls that were really popular during the 1990's.
My move to Etsy was the perfect next step during a time when a lot of Crafter's where starting up their own Websites. A friend and I even tried that for a while, but we both liked the large community of Crafter's that Etsy provided.
All the Hats in my Shop have been hand knit by me in a "smoke free" home that I share with my husband, grandson and two cat's named Muffin and Mindy.
Slouchy style Hats are my favorite Hats to knit as they provide that Retro-Bohemian look that so many like. They're also a favorite among those with long hair or dreads.
My Mom & Grandmother taught me to knit when I was 9 yrs. old. I also belonged to 4H and entered several of my knitted items in our local County Fair. I learned how to Spin back in the early 1990's as well and it's been fun to be able to add some of my own Hand Spun yarn to several of my Hats. Corriedale Wool is my Fiber of choice, so that's what I use the most. All Hats containing Hand Spun yarn are considered to be OOAK.
