Hello and welcome to Creative Hina Style
It all began with a faulty PC. My father handed me a broken computer when I was 9 years old. On the little screen, it could only type neon green text, but I soon learned how to type my name. After a few years, I found myself constantly requesting to play Mavis Beacon on my parents' functional computer! It was the most incredible type of entertainment I'd ever seen in my tween existence... computer imagery, sound, and interactive design.

By ninth grade, it was obvious that I wanted to be someone who used a computer to create "pretty" things. And I accomplished this with Microsoft Paint. I started making patterns and worked on photographs pixel by pixel - literally. My first painting was a Thanksgiving scene with little meals on a table and a fire in the backdrop.

Creative Hina was born in my early years at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, in 2001, when I was involved with several student clubs graphics and work study positions on campus. From there, I won some fun art competitions, graduated, and pursued my longtime passion of being a graphic and web designer. My business name is derived from HINA, the Polynesian creative Goddess of the night, because I used to work well into the late night on designs and art!

Aside from design, I like party planning, crafts, vegan cuisine, and Capoeira. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Wayne State University, have worked in corporate design for ten years, and am certified in viral content marketing.
