Lovely mittens! Lovely colors! I'm sure they will do a good job of keeping my hands warm for skiing sessions. I plan to use them as a layer inside the ski mittens.
I started knitting a few years ago as a form of therapy when diagnosed with an anxiety disorder to relax me when I was having a hard time. I had learned all sorts of crafts from my mother when I was very little but hadn't done anything for quite a few years. I liked how I could do something relaxing but productive at the same time. I started making little things for my friends and myself.
When I made my cafetiere cozy a couple of years ago (still in daily use!), my boyfriend, a chef, suggested I should sell them. I had previously made him a hat, which resulted in making every chef at work a hat, and then their girlfriends. Next, a random guy in the pub asked my boyfriend where he got his hat. They started talking and next thing I know I have my first official order. At this point I started finding out about Etsy, and finally found the courage to open up my shop.
The internet proved to be a wealth of information, and I'm constantly learning about yarns, their properties and sustainability and like to apply that evolving knowledge in my projects.
I'm a creative maker, focusing on knitting but not exclusively so, who is often scared of taking big risks but tries hard to take them anyway.
