Great natural color. Thel and tog will be so warm and wear resistant. Can't wait to spin it up in batches of natural colors and make a small shawl.

I am thrilled to hear how happy you are with our wool. We really do love our gang and their care is a priority on the farm. They are a great group of characters and bring a lot of joy to all of us. I would love to see what you create. It's always so neat to see what their wool becomes. Thanks again for your support and feedback.

Beautiful dark wool. I was surprised at the amount of veggie matter in this. The shop owner did mention this in the description, but I just didn't pay attention. It will be more labor intensive for spinners to work with due to the small particles of hay that tend to get stuck in the wool and are not easy to pick out.

We have the goats in with the sheep now and are hoping the eat up all the weeds to make a clean pasture for the gang. If we could just get Jerlys to not follow our donkey into the thick of it would help! :)

Great natural Icelandic wool, moderately clean. I love that the sheep are taken such great care of and the owners take real pride in their farm. Got a nice little magnet with my order with the farm logo on it. Shipped my order very promptly, despite it being the busy holiday season. I would absolutely recommend this to my spinning friends.

I had ordered a pound of this same roving earlier and was afraid I would not have enough to finish my sweater so I wrote to ask if any was still available. Thank heavens it was. So I am very happy with the product and with the vendor.

About

Created by Family

Since 1978, my mother-in-law has been following her life long dream and building, with her own two hands, the most beautiful place I have ever seen: Cricket Manor. Every structure that stands on this land, she built herself. Her home is constructed from 100 year old barns she disassembled herself and hauled to the land. Each day that I drive up the long path to the farm, I am amazed at what she has created.

For four years now, Cricket Manor has been home to a small flock of beautiful Icelandic sheep, grazing peacefully in the farm meadows, alongside Codswallop, our Shetland ram. Now, he was added based on sheer cuteness -- trust me, it is impossible to resist his charms!

My sister-in-law is the shepherdess, managing our herd, lambing in the springtime, and carefully growing the flock. My husband, daughters, and I are the helpers – we do whatever is needed from wrestling sheep to bathing lambs. Over the years, I have developed a real love for Cricket Manor, for just being on the land and in the presence of these wonderful Icelandic sheep. They are just as much family to me as our family.

Cricket Manor Wool is our way of sharing our world with you. When you spin our Icelandic and Shetland roving, you can know it comes from sheep who are loved, respected, and known by name. And together, we have created a family business that will be here for generations to come -- right along with the Icelandics who call our farm home.

Welcome to Cricket Manor Wool. All our Icelandic and Shetland wool comes from our small family farm in the Ohio Valley. We love our sheep like family and they are well carried and fed on pasture and fresh hay. Life at farm revolves around the animals here and we wouldn't have it any other way.
