Announcement   I love to create art on my farm in the wilds of far-eastern Ontario, Canada. Thanks so much for stopping by! Please have a virtual cuppa tea. Or maybe a very delicious fancy-schmancy coffee drink with whipped cream and little sprinkly things on top, with a chocolate-walnut scone on the side. Hey, it's virtual, so calories don't count!

To see what's going on around the farm, visit my blog:

Picture if you will, one middle aged woman fighting a cold, having just arrived home from a late night at work. She walks in the door, notices a package from Canada. Her heart skiped a beat as she ran with the package in her arms to find a pair of scissors to open it. Carefully she snipped open the edge of the package. Delighted with the lovely little goodies that were included. Slowly she opens the tissue paper... nlove at first sight it was, plain and simple. n

Welcome to my shop! Here you'll find my hand-hooked rugs and wall-hangings, each one a labour of love. All of the designs are my own originals, and I dye much of the wool I use, a mix of new and recycled materials. Old wool skirts, jackets, scarves and pants are fantastic for rug hooking, although I draw the line at underwear.

Most of these rugs are meant to be hung on a wall, and have tabs or a rod-pocket for that purpose. I do fine (as opposed to primitive) hooking, which means using a smaller-gauge hook and thinner strips of wool for my rugs. This allows for greater detail in my work.

I take inspiration from the world around me, and animals and nature are my favourite themes.

Anyone who hooks rugs knows how labour-intensive they are. I spend a lot of time coming up with original designs, then hand-tracing the patterns onto the backing fabric. Sometimes I write verse for the borders of the rug. But the most time-consuming aspect of rug hooking is pulling up every single loop by hand with a specially-made rug hook. Because I do "fine" hooking with thinner strips of wool fabric, this process takes a very long time! I enjoy putting a lot of detail into my work.

RUG HOOKING PATTERNS: all of my rug hooking patterns are my own original designs, drawn by hand onto the backing material with permanent "Sharpie" markers. I am careful to follow the weave of the fabric (burlap, linen or rug warp) when drawing straight lines.

Thank you for taking the time to visit!

Shipping
Item ships from: Canada

Ship to:

• United States
• Canada
• International: Contact for quote by preferred shipping method

Shipping includes insurance for full value of item, subject to terms and conditions of the policy provided by postal carrier.

**Any applicable duty and taxes are the responsibility of the purchaser.**

Within Canada, I ship via Canada Post using Xpresspost(TM), which claims next-day delivery. I am inclined to take that with a grain of salt, and please factor in a day or two for me to get the rug packaged up and off to the post office. I will send you an email as soon as I have shipped the item.

For shipment to the USA, I ship via Canada Post using their "Expedited parcel" method. Canada Post claims delivery in "as little as six days" but does not promise anything, because occasionally parcels can get tied up in customs for a while. They do offer a tracking number for this service, which I will supply to you, but to be honest I don't find this number particularly helpful, since the parcel usually arrives at its destination before Canada Post gets the tracking information entered on its system. I will however send you an email as soon as I have mailed your item.

International orders, please convo me!
Refunds and Exchanges
Please contact me if there is a problem with the item you purchased, and we'll work something out. All items are insured for loss in transit (by Canada Post.)
Additional policies and FAQs
My home is smoke-free, but not pet-free. I will do my best to ensure excess quantities of kitty or dog fur are not woven into your rug.

It is best to place/hang my rugs out of direct sunlight. They are not washable, however they can be gently vacuumed or brushed with a lint brush.

To store the rug, roll it up short end to short end, good side out, and keep it away from moths!
