Amy was so accommodating with our order, and it arrived right on time. It is always a pleasure shopping with her, I wish she wasn't moving away. At least we've stocked up in preparation and are savouring our hoard, nibbling away at it in increments and hiding it from brothers and fathers. It's our precious...
Cricklewood Chocolate is a small-batch chocolaterie, with unique chocolates made entirely by hand from fresh, quality ingredients. We create our chocolates in a council accredited kitchen to national food safety standards and design and package all of our products with food-grade, environmentally friendly materials.
Products may vary slightly from batch to batch but we think that's all part of the fun! Certain flavours may also be unavailable at certain times of the year. But we are always happy to invent new ones to satisfy your tastes!
ALLERGEN ALERT: Our products are made in a facility that processes foods that contain wheat (gluten), milk, eggs, soy, peanuts, tree nuts and seeds. While most chocolates may not contain all of these products, trace amounts of them may be found in our products.
We are pretty friendly, so please feel free to contact us via Etsy, Facebook, or email if you have any questions. Or just check out the policies & FAQ's below.

Additional policies and FAQs
Q: Is your chocolate organic & fair trade?
A: Yes. We source our couverture (base chocolate) from Ecuador through friends who have worked with the cacao farmers to produce organic and economically sustainable chocolate. The farmers do more of the processing and keep more of the profit.

A: All of our products are gluten free and contain no preservatives or artifical colours/flavours. See the list below for other nutrition details.

Q: How long will my order take to arrive?
A: We send off your order within 3 business days. Postage to Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney is guaranteed to arrive the next day. To other Australian cities it will arrive within 2 business days. International shipping is estimated at 7 – 10 days.
Q: Does the chocolate travel well over long distances (e.g. to the US)? Do you have any experience with that and what was the feedback?
A: We have sent a number of orders overseas, mostly to the US and Canada. With secure packaging they all arrive safely, however the length of time it takes can vary greatly and some of the chocolates are highly perishable (such as truffles). We suggest ordering 3 weeks in advance if the chocolates are required by a specific date. Non-truffle items are the best choice for International orders. Alternatively, an express option can be requested at additional cost. If an order does arrive in an unacceptable condition, we are more than happy to issue refunds, store credit or replacements.
Q: Why is the postage so expensive?
A: We send our orders by express post because of the delicate nature of chocolate. You can request standard postage at the checkout and the remaining sum will be refunded to you. International orders are sent by regular post unless express is requested. *The US government has recently imposed a $9 surcharge on any packages over 500g entering the country, which has resulted in an increase in our shipping charges for customers in the US*
Q: What is the expiry/shelf-life on your chocolates?
A: All of our chocolate bars as well as the autumn leaves are best consumed within 12 months but are still edible after that, as chocolate itself is not very perishable. Our truffles contain cream and like all of our chocolates are free from preservatives, so they are best consumed fresh within a week of receiving them.
Q: How should I store the chocolates?
A: Avoid storing chocolate in the fridge. It is too humid and will cause it to bloom. It will still be edible but will lose its sheen and appear matte with white streaks or spots. Always store chocolate in a cool, dry place, away from light. A dark corner of the pantry is usually a good spot. In extremely hot weather you may try storing chocolate in a sealed tupperware container in the bottom of the fridge lined with paper towel to absorb excess moisture.
Q: Why are there white streaks/spots on my chocolate?
A: This is called “bloom”. It occurs when the chocolate is exposed to excessive heat or moisture, causing the cocoa butter and sugar to separate. To avoid bloom, always store chocolate in a cool, dry place away from light.
