Code: DEC2016CYBER
Good through Dec 11, 2016! :)

Here at the Crochet Garden, you will be able to find everything from crochet baby dress patterns, to crochet toddler dress patterns- and even those hard to find crochet girl dress patterns! There are patterns for the rest of the family too- crochet scarf patterns, crochet mitten patterns to crochet hat patterns! If cables are your thing, you will find plenty of those, as well as crochet lace.

Browse for crochet afghan patterns, or even stunning lace crochet shawl patterns. You will find everything for the family here.

I have been called the absent-minded designer. My desk may be a tornado of flying hooks and dangling yarn- a wind of ideas. Designs may end up here, published in books, or featured in magazines. Hopefully they find their way to you and make memories.

HANDMADE ITEMS:
Sometimes there will be original handmade items in the shop, and sometimes there will be items made from my patterns. ALL handmade items are made solely by me, the designer. If there is nothing handmade for sale, keep checking back.

All items are made with with special attention each tiny detail. All buttons are securely attached, and each item will arrive to you new, with fiber materials and laundering instructions. Although I take great tender care of garments, we do own a dog, thus if one has allergies, be sure to take note of this.

These hats (and scarves!) are knitted looking but crochet. VERY difficult to follow for me since I am brand new at cables. The patterns are very clear and easy to follow, but the difficulty level is advanced for sure. I am more an intermediate, but these hats have helped me start understanding cables better. Love the matching scarf patterns as well, those are classic xmas gifts for my family and loved ones!

About

The Crochet Garden

I have always been a creator of sorts. I can't tell you the number of times I heard "Oh no, Lisa and another one of her big ideas!" I'd come up up with inventions for fix-it problems around the house. I'd spend hours on the playground writing lavish stories filled with grand characters in far-away worlds. When grandma visited, I made sure to be all prepared- crochet hooks, knitting needles, yarn, beads, anything crafty I could get my hands on, trying my best not to topple over on her before she had one foot in the door.

I suppose I never gave up my child-ways.

In 2004, I could not find a pattern design that suited exactly what I was looking for. (I had always been a picky one. My parents called it the "she is sensitive and particular type." ) I looked, but nothing was exactly what I wanted.

So, I designed my own and uploaded the pattern "just for the heck of it." I had no idea, really, what I was doing. It wasn't just a hat, but a sweet escape into another world.

Oodles of emails came pouring in, asking me for more. Liking to make people happy, the people-pleaser I was, I put up a few more. It was amazing. People really liked my creations. I had always lived in sort of my own little box in my own little head, in the truffles of my own chaos. But one day, I received an unexpected email that unwrapped that little box.

A lady was very upset that I was giving away my patterns for free. She insisted I was taking away income from designers out there and that my patterns were so good I should be charging for them.

It happened. Not just a light bulb, mind you. A tornado of lights, a storm of ideas. An influx of yarn and an emptied checkbook, along with it all the voices "You can't," and "You will never make it," and "you're crazy!" (that last one I already knew) so on. Of course, the natural child in me did not listen. And so, the Crochet Garden was born.

I have always been a creator. I'd write lavish stories full of grand characters, come up with fix-it inventions around the house, and experiment with my own crochet stitches- poor grandma wanted me to practice plain sc and dc over and over.
