In 2006 was mijn beste vriendin zwanger van haar eerste kind en ik wilde dat ze een speciaal cadeau van mij zou krijgen; een geschenk dat handgemaakt en uit het hart kwam. Dus leerde ik mezelf haken.
Tijdens een reis naar het winkelcentrum met een aantal andere vrienden kreeg ik de haakset die mijn vrije tijd veranderde en ik ben sindsdien niet gestopt met haken!
Ik ben zelden zonder mijn haken en een streng garen. En ik ben altijd op zoek naar die volgende uitdaging of inspiratie in de interesses van mensen, grilligheid of alledaagse dingen om me heen voor kleurkeuzes en combinaties.
Normaal gesproken werk ik samen met mijn klant als het gaat om aangepaste bestellingen en kom ik met de perfecte kleurencombinaties en stijl waarnaar ze op zoek zijn. Als het een kant-en-klaar item is, ben ik nog steeds op zoek naar trends, of het nu een baby-item, pop of de nieuwste rage is.
Ik wil dat mensen houden van de items die ze kopen en / of met mij samenwerken om te maken. Ik wil dat ze lang meegaan en iets dat ze nog jaren zullen koesteren.
In 2006, my best friend was pregnant with her first child and I wanted her to have a special gift from me; a gift that was handmade and from the heart. So I taught myself to crochet.
On a trip to the mall with some other friends I got the crochet kit that changed my spare time and I haven't stopped crocheting since!
I'm rarely without my hooks and a skein of yarn. And I'm always looking for that next challenge or inspiration in peoples interests, whimsy or every day things around me for color choices and combinations.
Normally, I will work with my client when it comes to custom orders and come up with the perfect color combinations and style they're looking for. If it's a ready made item, I'm still looking for trends whether it's a baby item, doll or the latest fad.
I want people to love the items that they buy and/or work with me to create. I want them to be long lasting and something they will treasure for years to come.
