Super easy to make. Mine was shades of blue and tans. I always wear a blanket when I am working in my studio or in my research lab, I seem to be prone to drafts, real or imagined. The neck is high enough to keep the draft, sleeves allow for working without losing my blanket, and it is long enough to cover my butt (I am 5'9"). I absolutely love it.

Just listed! This lightweight cardigan shrug adds warmth without bulk making it a great year round accessory.
I'm looking forward to making this soft chunky baktus scarf/shawl in other colours. I love summer, but fall is all about colour and coziness!
So excited to introduce the Bella Ombre Poncho! Pattern includes sizes S/M & M/L.

About

Passion Opens the Doors to Creativity....

As a child I was fascinated by the fashions in the historical movies that I loved watching. I spent hours drawing my own version of the styles I liked the best. Around the same time I also learned to knit and earned my Knitter's badge in Brownies. I knew nothing about patterns at that time so when I wanted clothes for my Barbie doll I sat down with my only pair of knitting needles and a ball of yarn and figured out how to make sweaters and skirts for her. I improvised a way to keep my stitches from unraveling because I had only learned how to make the stitches, not how to cast them off.I could not have foreseen that these early childhood experiences would plant a seed that years later grew into me designing full-time.

At first, I created in the evenings and on weekends while working fulltime as a clinical social worker. Life was good! However, in 2013, after a major resurgence of Meniere’s Disease, I found myself unable to work. I eventually left my job and stepped out of our fast-paced modern lifestyle. I turned to my longtime love of crochet and quickly recognized the meditative and healing benefits I derived from it.

Bored with my old pattern collection and unable to leave my house for a time, I began designing my own patterns. I listed the first one in late 2014, and my collection has grown steadily since then. Life today is better than good! I feel very blessed to be able to work from home doing what I love.

My inspiration comes from the world around me. As long as I pay attention to the whispers of my soul I am rewarded with a steady stream of new ideas. I make every effort to use clear concise professional language that is easy for people to understand. Most of my designs are created with beginner and intermediate skill levels in mind.

When I am not crocheting, or teaching crochet classes, I enjoy spending time in nature with my camera in hand, cooking healthy meals, playing with my cat, and spending time with family and friends.

I was recently honoured to learn that Lion Brand Yarns had featured my Harvest Ruana design in their October 7, 2015, newsletter showcasing 7 of their favourite new pattern designs. You can see it here by copying and pasting the following link into your browser:
