About

When Worlds Don't Mesh

There are a couple of major drawbacks when you come from a family of artists, musicians, singers and dancers - they expect to you be one too.

The first problem with that is that if you have little or no talent you will probably spend a part or all of your life being the square peg trying to fit into a round hole. The other one is that having a “safe and secure” job in an office will probably drive you nuts.

I know. I’ve been there.

While I have some talent in all of the arts mentioned above, I'm not good enough to make a career out of it (nor did I want to). I don’t know what prompted me to try my hand at making jewellery, but it was the right move.

I tried my hand at a number of techniques before settling on wire work. There is something very special to me about bending and shaping the wire either with a tool or by hand. There is an element of magic and unpredictability in working with natural materials like metal, stone and pearls. Mother Nature is a great design partner. I let my materials tell me what they want to become. I may start out to make pearl and copper earrings, but in the process, the design that comes may work better with amethyst chips. No two are ever exactly alike.

I recently discovered the joys and challenges of working with bead soup. What is bead soup you ask? It's a mixture of different beads that follow a theme, either colour or idea (such as nautical). Sometimes I use the packages of bead soup as they are for a single piece, other times I separate the beads out and see what really works with what and create a number of different items from the package.

Rediscovering my love for chalk pastels got me drawing again. I love the blendability and soft effect you can achieve with chalk. Combine that softness with the hard edge of ink and you get a wonderful combination. I've started to offer my drawings in my shop.

Once you start creating, you can't stop and sooner or later you have to either give some of your work away or sell it. I started selling at craft shows and before long decided to try opening a shop on Etsy. I love doing both. Etsy gives me an opportunity to reach people beyond my home town and craft shows give me an opportunity to meet people and talk about my work.

I have another shop here on Etsy where I offer unique and one of a kind jewellery and accessories for home and person - www.etsy.com/shop/SilverFoxDesigns6

Having come from a family of artists, musicians, singers and dancers, I thought I was the oddball of the family until I tried my hand at making jewellery. After hearing the usual “You should sell this stuff” for a while I decided to give it a try.

Welcome to Crystal Fox Treasures, my den of wearable lovelies and other goodies.

I love to experiment and try new materials and techniques in jewellery making.

I also love to read cards and have been reading them for over 35 years. It took me a long time to find decks that I resonated with, but about 5 years ago I found not 1, but 3 decks which I use in my readings.

Please take time to visit my other shop, www.etsy.com/shop/SilverFoxDesigns6 where I offer handcrafted unique and one of a kind jewellery and accessories.

Returns and exchanges
I want your experience in my shop to be a happy one. If you are not happy with your purchase, please convo me and I will work with you to sort the matter out. I package all items carefully for safe shipment, but if an item arrives damaged in transit, please convo me as soon as possible so that we can work out a solution, whether it be repair or replacement. Any replacement will be sent only after I receive the original piece being returned.

Please note that due to the laws and health regulations here, there is no exchange or return on pierced earrings. If the earrings arrive damaged, please convo me and I will gladly repair them.

As jewellery is a personal item, if for some reason you are not happy with your purchase, I will accept exchanges only on items (other than pierced earrings) within 7 business days of you receiving your order. If for some reason you are not happy with the accessories or artwork you have purchased, I will either exchange the item or refund the purchase price (not including the shipping costs) within 7 business days of you receiving your order. The items must be returned to me in their original package and condition. Items must be packed in their original shipping materials. Exchanges/refunds will be given only after I receive the returned item. For your protection, I advise you to insure the package when shipping it. Most methods of shipping packages with Canada Post include insurance for up to $100.00 in value. Please insure the package for its full value when returning items. Customers are responsible for all return shipping/insurance fees.

There are no refunds on Tarot Readings.

Custom Orders

There is no return or refund on custom orders (items designed just for you). If the item is damaged in transit, I will gladly repair it.
Payment
I accept payment by PayPal and Direct Checkout. I also accept Etsy Giftcards. Payment is expected within 3 days of the purchase of the item. If you prefer to pay by credit card through PayPal, you can do so even if you do not have a PayPal account. Instructions on how to pay for your purchase by credit card using PayPal can be found in the following blog:

www.etsy.com/blog/en/2007/how-to-pay-with-a-credit-card-and-create-a-paypal-account

No items will be shipped until payment has been received and clears.

Non-Payment:

If you change your mind about your purchase before paying for it, please let me know by convo and I will cancel the order. If your payment is going to be delayed, please convo me and we can make the appropriate arrangements, otherwise, if payment is not received within the time specified above (3 days), I will cancel the order.

Custom Orders

A non-refundable deposit of $30.00 is required at the time you request a custom designed piece of jewellery as it will take time and work on my part to create the design you want. This deposit will be applied to the final price of the item (not including any applicable taxes or shipping). Once the final design is approved by you, payment of the balance of cost of the item will be required before I begin making the piece.
Shipping
I ship to Canada and the USA. International orders to the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Norway, Germany and France only will be accepted at this time. Other countries will follow as I sort out which countries I can ship to and which I cannot.

Items are carefully packaged and then wrapped in bubble wrap and placed in a box or padded/bubble envelope (depending on the physical size of the order and/or its destination. Artwork will be packaged so as to protect it from damage during shipping. Some of my shipping materials are or contain recycled material. If I use "foam" peanuts as packing material, they are biodegradable.

All items will be shipped via Canada Post within the time parameters indicated on each item, with most being shipped within 1 to 3 days of payment being received and clearing (not including weekends and Holidays).

My products are shipped via Regular Parcel within Canada. Outside of Canada I ship either Expedited Parcel or Tracked Packet, which include insurance and tracking, except for those items that whose prices are such that shipping costs would far exceed the value of the item. If you wish to upgrade from Regular Post to Expedited Parcel or Tracked Packet (an additional charge will apply) please let me know by convo at the time you place your order and I will adjust your invoice accordingly.

If you wish to upgrade to Xpress Post or Priority Post (an additional charge will apply), please let me know by convo at the time you place your order and I will adjust your invoice accordingly. Please be advised that these are very expensive options, but they do get your purchase to you more quickly.

Unfortunately, Canada Post is expensive, but I do all that I can to keep the cost as low as possible while ensuring that your package reaches you in perfect condition.

Please be advised that items that are shipped outside of Canada may take more than two weeks to arrive due to time spent at customs, which is beyond my control.

I am pleased to offer free shipping via Tracked Packet or Expedited Parcel (where available - Regular Parcel if it is not available) on orders over $200.00 (before tax).

Please note that Canadian clients residing in provinces that do not have HST (for example, Quebec - GST and QST) are responsible for the provincial taxes. All other clients are responsible for customs duties, taxes charged by their respective countries and additional postal fees charged by their respective countries.

Please allow at least 2 weeks for custom orders (items designed just for you or large orders such as wedding/shower/party favours).

IMPORTANT

Please confirm your shipping address in the “message to seller” box when checking out.

NOTE:

All items are packed with love and care.
Additional policies and FAQs
All of my handcrafted items are created in a smoke free home. Depending on where I have acquired them, I cannot guarantee that the vintage items have come from a smoke free place.

I have a dog and a bird, so please bear this in mind if you are extremely sensitive to pet dander.

Like anything that contains small pieces, my jewellery and accessories are neither suitable nor safe for small children.

If you like any of the handcrafted items in my shop but would like a minor change made to it or would like more than one of the item (such as for bridesmaid gifts), please contact me and I will do my best to accommodate you.

I am also happy to entertain custom orders.

Home shows may be a great way to have a fun evening shopping and chatting with friends, but they do mean a lot of preparation and expense for the hostess/host.

Enter the Shop Show. There is little preparation involved, you merely book a date by convo and send out invitations to friends and family. Everyone shops at their convenience from their own home.

When you book your show, I will email you a show coupon code to pass on to those who will be “attending” the show which will entitle them to $5.00 off their order over $25.00 at the show. The coupon code will only be valid on the day of the show.

The hostess/host of the show will receive perks for hosting the show based on the purchases made using the show coupon code during the 24 hour period of the show date.

Gentlemen, these shows are also great for you to host as it provides a quick and easy way to shop for beautiful gifts for that special someone, especially for occasions such as Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and taking care of Holiday shopping.

For further information on hosting a Shop Show, please convo me.
