On the positive side, this seller has a playful use of color and patterns. On the down side, the construction of this dress was disappointing. The collar was poorly executed. It buckles, doesn't lie flat, and is off center. Given the cost of the dress, quite disappointing. The back closure has a gap below the waistline where the bodice overlap is poorly executed. The buttons sewn for closure have two threads and loosened after the first time my granddaughter unbuttoned the dress. I asked the seller for a refund because the collar was poorly executed, in line with her policy regarding faulty manufacturing. The seller said this isn't a fault, but my judgement of her quality of construction. The seller offered a $10 refund and refused to live up to her refund policy. The seller doesn't back her work.

~ Couture Doll Creations

A true generational family owned business...

My mother, Jackie, instilled in me at a very young age the love of dolls and their world of accessories and beautiful ensembles. She lovingly made the clothing that my dolls wore using quality material, snaps, buttons and zippers to ensure they would become our own family heirlooms in time.

When I was blessed with my own daughter in 1998, I too found the calling to create wardrobes for my little girl's dolls. Disappointed with the declining quality of mass produced doll clothing, I decided to start making them myself. Enter my first sewing machine, a gift from my mom. That sewing machine traveled with me all over the US and Germany inspiring classic and modern doll creations.

Fast forward to 2008 and the creation of Cupcake Cutie Pie as a brand. Due to overwhelming requests and glowing compliments, my mom and I decided to start our own business making beautiful American Girl and Bitty Baby creations for others outside our family. We decided at that time that our creations should be unique to each customer and so the idea of one of a kind doll clothing was established.

Since then we have created new designs unique to our brand alone and receive custom requests on a regular basis for unique outfits or character look a likes. We believe that quality materials and fastening methods will ensure these items become family heirlooms for new families and their dolls. For this reason we do not use velcro in our creations because it can tear up delicate trims and ribbons. We will use velcro on custom items only by special request aside from the pre-made items supplied by our vendors. In 2014 we released our first two 18" doll patterns commissioned by Simplicity patterns numbered 1486 and 1220. In June 2015 pattern 1089 was released. Two more patterns have been released in the Early Spring 2016 release 8070 & 8071.

My oldest daughter is now becoming interested in the creative process of making doll clothing. She is a true helping hand in assisting with designing and fashion inspiration for clothing as well as the creation of doll jewelry to accompany individual ensembles.

Last but not least is my sister Marci, who appears as a guest seamstress with truly ornate and unique apparel for American Girls.

As a family we value the importance of dolls to our little girls and our memories from our own childhood. As a business we strive to create quality ensembles that stand the test of time to become your own treasures.

My mom and I run this shop both making doll clothing and accessories. My mom has 60+ years of seamstress experience and makes beautiful girl's dresses with the same attention to detail when making American Girl doll clothing. I share her passion for making doll clothing and have been sewing for 20+ years and also have the expertise to get these items online. We focus on making each outfit unique so you can have a one of a kind with the exception of costumes and character reproductions. As you can see from our customer's comments our products are higher quality than store bought. We gladly welcome your custom orders.
