About Alexis...

I've been both an entrepreneur and designer / crafter since I was little. I think it started when I was 8 and I decided to paint rocks and sell them door-to-door - and people bought them!!

My interests have evolved a bit since then and I've followed a not-so-straight path through my education starting with Architecture and ending up in Graphic Communications. During grad school I got this crazy idea to start a stationery business on my own, and voila - Curio Press was born! It was the perfect way for me to bring my designs into others' lives while still pursuing a career that brought me joy.

Curio Press started in early 2013 and both it and my family have seen a lot of changes in that time. We moved 5 times (that's right! CA, NY, CT, MA, and MO) and have added a baby girl to the mix. We currently live in Saint Louis, Missouri and are absolutely loving it.

The business has continued to grow, but it is still a one-woman operation. I create every item in my shop myself and personally respond to any messages. I am obsessive about details and strive to offer high quality products and customer service that can't be found anyplace else.

I am so thankful to those who support handmade goods and the artisans who create them. This wouldn't be possible without you!

Thank you and happy shopping!
- Alexis

Frequently asked questions

• USPS First Class Mail - 2-7 business days in transit

ORDERS OVER $30 - (EXCLUDING SHIPPING):

***All mugs ship USPS Priority Mail, no matter the price, due to their weight

If you need faster shipping than the times above, please contact me prior to placing your order!

I just noticed an issue with my shipping address - can it be changed?

If you notice an issue with an address, please contact me as soon as possible with the corrections.

All orders will be sent to the address given on the order unless otherwise requested. Please ensure this address is accurate and complete as I will use it EXACTLY as given. I have no way to know if the address is correct, so please DOUBLE CHECK when completing the payment process.

Do you accept returns or exchanges?

Returns and exchanges are not accepted due to the nature of personalized items. If your items arrive damaged due to shipping or I made a mistake on your order, please contact me immediately. I want you to be super happy with your purchase, so if you are not satisfied in any way, please let me know and I will do my best to make it right!

Do you send digital proofs before printing?

I only send PDF proofs if requested, or if I feel I need your approval prior to printing due to a custom request. Most orders do not require the proofing step and it allows me to get your cards to you much faster!

If you would like a proof before I print, please let me know in the notes section at checkout. All proofs are emailed to the email address on file with Etsy. If you have another you prefer please provide it.

All PDF proofs are locked, unprintable files and are for preview purposes only.

Is your logo printed on the cards?

Yes, my logo is printed very small in light grey on the bottom back center of the cards as a quality mark.

If you would like this left off, please let me know at the time of purchase and I will accommodate your request.

Will the printed colors look exactly like they do on my screen?

All monitors and devices display color differently, therefore on screen colors may vary from printed colors.

Please note that the gold and silver in the swatch chart are NOT metallic - they are simply gold and silver in hue.

How do I add my personalization?

Please type your personalization into the "message to Curio Press" text box at checkout. Each listing states in the description what info is required.

I will copy and paste your text directly from your order into the text portion of the design. So please double check it!! This includes capitalization unless the listing states that the text on the card is all lower or uppercase.

How are the items packaged?

Each stationery set and notepad is secured with our signature wrap band for that finishing touch. Notecards are packaged in beautiful clear acrylic boxes and notepads are packaged in sealed cello sleeves--making perfect gifts for yourself or someone special!

What kind of paper and printing do you use?

All paper items in my shop are digitally flat printed with archival inks.

• Notecards are printed on smooth, white, heavyweight 100lb. coverstock.

• Notepads are printed on matching smooth, white 70lb. text weight paper - much heavier than standard paper, but not as thick as coverstock.

Do you offer custom design services?

No, I am not currently taking on any new custom design work. My family just moved to a new state and I am putting design work on hold while we get settled.
