Almost all of my items are vintage which means they have more than likely been used and show signs of that wear. I try to be as clear as I can about the condition of all items. Many times the patina of age add to the charm and desireability of a piece .If more info or photos are needed please feel free to convo me.
As a rule, I will rarely, if ever, describe an item as mint so please do not expect sparkling new condition. In some cases, I choose not to clean items. This is better left to the customer. Tarnish, corrosion, rust can add to the beauty of any vintage item.

Returns and exchange details
I will put every effort into making the transaction as positive as possible. I provide detailed descriptions that include the condition of the item, size, country of origin, and functionality.
The buyer's responsibility is to read item descriptions, look at photos, and ask questions before purchasing. Failure to do so will influence decisions about accepting returns. I will only refund the cost of the item in these cases. I am a very small business and cannot recoup lost shipping costs. An agreed-upon refund will only be provided once a package is returned and received by myself. There will be a restocking fee of at least $1.00.
Orders can only be canceled within a 4-hour window- following placing your order. Items are packed up and shipped out soon after that. There will be a restocking fee of at least $1.00.
If an uninsured item arrives damaged I will typically request pictures. Most packages will be insured. If an insured item becomes damaged, pictures of the damage and of the packaging are required. I can help with the insurance process but the buyer is ultimately responsible for filing a claim.
I cannot take responsibility for items once they are picked up by the USPS. I will try to help locate lost items but I can't guarantee success.
Payment
Vermont residents will be charged a rate of 6% for state sales tax.
There are a number of payment options available, including Paypal, credit cards, Etsy gift cards. Items are shipped as soon as payment is received.
Shipping
Current shipping times are greatly impacted at this time due to the challenges presented by COVID-19 to USPS, FedEx and other shipping venues. Media Mail and First Class USPS shipping times can take a number of weeks to arrive depending on destination. I do track and monitor all shipments and I do not restrict a buyer’s shipping options. I cannot promise arrival dates. If there is a shipping question please convo me before purchasing. I can no longer offer guarantees around shipping destination times. This is our current normal.
I am advising against using Media Mail as a shipping option due to the USPS backlog. Many of these Media shipments can take up to 2 months to be delivered, increasing the likelihood of an item becoming lost. The option remains but if Media Mail is chosen, CuriousAndVintage cannot take responsibility for delayed or missing shipments once they are turned over to USPS.
I pack everything as carefully as possible- lots of bubble wrap and paper. I prefer to recycle packaging materials as it keeps costs down and is just plain good for us all. This sometimes can lead to funky looking parcels. I will not, however, compromise the integrity of the parcel's contents.
Most orders will go out within 24- 72 hours of purchase but this doesn't include weekends, public holidays.
Needless to say, shipping times are greatly affected by our current situation and precautions needed around COVID-19. I am adding a day to my shipping times to cover any possible glitches, supply issues, as well as delays within USPS itself. Please be patient, understanding, and plan ahead.

If your order includes any kind of extra insert, such as a manual, photo, or other paper or small ‘extra’ please be certain to look for it among the packaging. I put these loose items in an envelope to keep them intact and tuck it into the box. I cannot be held accountable if these items are tossed out with the packaging. I check and recheck to make certain all parts of your order get to you.

Most all items are shipped USPS. Oversized items will typically be shipped FedEx.

Shipping methods and costs depend on the individual item and the distance it must travel. Most packages will be shipped Priority Mail, First Class or Priority Mail Flat Rate. If a quoted shipping and handling cost is much more than the actual cost you will be refunded the difference. I do not charge the buyer for packaging materials.
If you feel the Priority rates are too high please convo myself and I may be able to quote a standard shipping price that is cheaper. Please keep in mind that Priority Mail includes insurance and tracking which is highly recommended and I am reluctant to ship without it. With insurance included, Priority is often less costly than ground shipping rates.

If you need an item within a particular time frame please convo me. I can send express but please understand that expeditited shipping rates can be quite high.

Be aware that during certain times of the year the Post Office is extremely busy so please place your order early to allow plenty of time to process and ship.

I am also at the mercy of the weather here- snow, ice, floods- you name it. If there is to be any unforeseen delay in shipping an item, I will let you know ASAP.

Please make certain your shipping address is up to date, and matches in both your PayPal and etsy account. If they are different, please let me know at checkout or through a convo telling me which mailing address you would like your parcel sent.

International shipping is possible in most cases but it does depend on location. Please convo me for a shipping quote. In many cases, these shipping costs can be quite high and time for delivery can be extensive. I will do my best to provide the best rate I can. Any customs fees are the responsibility of the buyer.
