Ordered these art batts to make felted soap. The colors are very vibrant. I love the streaks and pops of color. Can't wait to make more soaps so I can felt them. Great work!

My first time buying art batts. I bought them to make felted soap. They turned out lovely. The colors were great! I will definitely be a return customer.

About

Felting is what I love!

Some things in life are happy accidents and needle felting was mine! I was looking for information on 'felting' some old cashmere sweaters for a winter project, but along came a picture of the cutest little needle felted polar bear. Well, I had to learn how to make one! From there I was hooked on felting (although I think I stabbed myself with the VERY sharp needles in the beginning more than I did the wool). Needless to say, I never started that cashmere project!

From there, I had an overabundance of wool (because I want to have all of the colors), so I started selling wool for needle felting in smaller sizes of coordinating colors so that others could have a full range of shades too. Of course, then came dyeing my own wool (which I love to do) so this wool makes up the majority of the color collections in the Wooly Buns that I sell. I have been fortunate to add some great commercially prepared wool top and batting in a wonderful range of colors so that I can offer larger quantities for your felting projects and am now carding* my own colors and art batts for special shade ranges and spinning.

It is amazing to me that you can take a fluff of wool and turn it into a little figurine or dog sculpture. They just make me smile as each one has its own personality. I hope that you will find that they make you smile too!

*Hand carded wool has a different texture than top or roving. It is a 'batt' type, which makes the fibers fluffy with lovely natural shading and comes off of the carder in a sheet. Even when I roll it into 'buns', you will be able to see the layers and texture. Most of the wool that I offer is wool top. Top fibers are aligned in one direction and are in a 'rope' form. It spins easily and produces smooth wet felted creations. I use top, roving and batting in my designs and they can be used interchangeably for many of your projects too!

I'm so excited to be attending the Southeastern Animal Fiber Fest (SAFF) this year as a vendor in Barn F! If you've never been to SAFF, it is well worth the trip to see all of the fiber-y goodness that is available. It is 3 days of fiber fun and a WONDERFUL event with great variety (and a great time to visit Asheville too!).

Shipping
All the items listed are ready to ship unless we have discussed a customized creation. Getting your new purchase to you promptly is a priority of mine. I make every effort to mail your order out by the next business day (and depending on the ordering timeframe, the same day it was ordered). By default, all items are shipped using the least expensive shipping method available--usually First Class or Parcel Post mail in the U.S--unless you request that I do otherwise.

I mail packages to most other countries and use the most economical postage available. Any customs fees, tariffs or taxes that your country charges are the responsibility of the buyer, not the seller. Any overseas packages are always marked as merchandise and can not be marked as a 'gift' to avoid your tariffs and fees.
Refunds and Exchanges
I want you to be very happy with your purchase! If there is any problem, please let me know immediately so that I can do all that I can to make you happy. If we can not find a solution, I will refund your purchase price (minus shipping) when the item is returned to me. You will need to pay the return shipping and it must be returned in the same condition that it arrived.

Please remember that these are handmade items and I make each and every piece myself (as well as dye all of the wool by hand in small batches). I try very hard to take decent pictures and to describe the item you are purchasing accurately, but each one is different and one of a kind.

I love doing custom orders and they are always welcome! Payment will be required before the piece is created and I will send you digitals of the final creation to make sure that it meets your satisfaction before mailing. Your satisfaction is always my first priority!

Custom pieces are done in the order they are placed. If you have any questions on availability, please do not hesitate to ask!
